Completely agree!! One of the best deals around. City library actually buys new books every month. You do have to go on waiting list, but ITS FREE. (or you're wasting your tax money if you don't make use of library)

The Kindle gives you instant access to pay for and download books. However, as far as I know, you are locked into the Amazon format. I have the Sony E-reader and I love it. It supports pretty much all the ebook formats and is super easy to use. You can also download books like you would MP3 music files...you can decide where you download them...and the cost or non-cost involved.

It also gets my 10 year old son reading more as well.

For those wondering, the coverage map shows both 2G and 3G service, the carrier is probably Rogers so plan accordingly. The kindle does not have wifi.

ACtually, the beauty of ereaders is that they don't look like a screen. They aren't backlit screens. The e-ink technology makes it look like print and it is much easier on the eyes than staring at a backlit monitor!
