I THINK when light and ***** causes glare, polarized ones help prevent the light from hindering your view. Useful for stuff like fishing when the sunlight hitting the water makes it impossible to see the fish in the water.

However, from I've heard, many pilots are prohibited from wearing polarized sunglasses because depending on the windscreen, wearing them can cause some "weird" visual effects and cause one to not see another airplane that would normally be in view. But for driving, it has not affected my view in any negative manner but at the same time, my polarized ones haven't made a positive difference either.

So IMO, just get the non-polarized.

As far as I know, polarized lenses block out glare in addition to reducing the amount of light that passes through the lens. These are usually LESS dark than non-polarized lenses (people may be able to see your eyes through the lens). Also, it may be hard to see things displayed on your dashboard if it's digital, or any other LCD displays with polarized lenses. Non-polarized lenses are usually darker depending on the tint, however, they do not block out glare. Hope this helps!

Great price. However if you value authenticity, I would be careful buying from amazon. The fact that they are selling a couple of the glasses with a polarization option when no polarized option exists (at least for real raybans) is concerning.

For example, the honey/brown frames are only sold with the B15 XLT lens (http://www.ray-ban.com/usa/sunglasses/rb2132/945). On the amazon site they are either sold with no B15 XLT lens or polarized, which do not actually exist for authentic raybans.

Polarized is good as long as you are viewing naturally/directly.
If you tend of have some artificial picture, then go for non polarized..

It is excellent for driving
