Police have issued an Amber Alert for Joshua Low, a Toronto boy who went missing more than a week ago.
Police say the mother left the family home with the child on April 13. A week later, police say they “received information which caused them to be concerned for his safety while in her care.”
Jessica Low-Zheng, 45, is Asian and approximately 5’2 with a thin build, long black hair and glasses. Her son Joshua Low is described as 8 years old, approximately 4’, with a thin build and short black hair.
Police believe Low could be in the Greater Toronto Area, and note his mother has ties in York Region and Hamilton.
Toronto police Det. Darren Berenowski says investigators are also concerned about the mother's safety.
The two were last seen in a 2000 4-door brown Toyota Corolla with Ontario licence plate number BAME 697.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-3300 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

The family lives in the Don Mills and McNicoll. If you see them in the area, please call 911 immediately. I think the reason why they waited a week was because dad didn't tell the police all the details.

I should mention that the picture the police are using is one of Joshua when he was more like 4-5 years old. So he would look slightly older if you saw him. But he is a skinny child and doesn't weigh much.

CityTv is reporting that dad contacted police on Friday. Police didn't issue the alert until someone provided them with information that lead police to belief that he was in danger.
I really REALLY hope we find him. I'd hate to imagine what the school is going to be like on Monday if he doesn't show up._______________

TORONTO POLICE HANDOUT
Niamh Scallan and Tim Alamenciak
Staff Reporters
A missing North York boy who became the subject of a province-wide police search on Saturday has been found alive and well.
Joshua Low, 8, was reunited with his father late Saturday night.
The boy and his mother went missing more than a week ago. Police issued a province-wide Amber Alert Saturday evening after they received information that caused them to fear for Joshua’s safety.
Joshua and mother Jessica Low-Zheng, 45, disappeared from their home in a subdivision near McNicoll Ave. and Don Mills Rd. on April 13. Police received a call that day and arrived at the family home, where the father answered the door and said his wife had taken their son “for unknown reasons.”
Officers launched a missing person’s investigation and received a number of leads over the last week. They located the mother and son Saturday night around 11:30 p.m.
Earlier that day police received a tip that the boy’s safety may have been at risk. Toronto police Const. Tony Vella refused to provide details on the nature of the tip, but said investigators were “quite concerned” by the information.
Officers contacted the Ontario Provincial Police Saturday evening to request an Amber Alert, a warning system activated by police when they believe an abducted child under 18 is in “imminent danger.”
The mother was taken into police custody Saturday night, according to Det. Mark Charuk.

I should just say it.
That's a really crazy way to go through a separation, if that's what it is._______________

what a waste of public money to put it on Amber Alert.
I wonder what the police considered as child "in danger"._______________

I don't know, the child's name is "Low" and her name is a hybrid name "Yi Qing Low-Zhen".
That doesn't say much at all, but the fact that they were found shortly after the amber alert makes me think that whatever was happening was taken a lot more seriously when they upgraded the status.
Hey, it should be interesting for the generation coming up who gets a full historical record of everything on the internet, if it all sticks around.
Who knows, maybe there was real trouble, maybe it was just two adults fighting it out through a separation causing panic.
This is a potential tip off.
Police aren’t saying if the boy has been reunited with his father, or any possible charges.
So they probably shouldn't have gotten the police involved if there was no danger, jmo...
Considering what happens to fathers whose children make crayon drawings of guns. Who knows what kind of strange family policies the Canadian Regime has?Last edited by MrKap; Apr 22nd, 2012 at 12:33 PM.
