AMD Zen 2

I'll get the party started with the big rumor of the day that is all over the internet at this point:

People are saying it's credible. I will believe it when I see it. Lots of positive stories about Zen 2. The proof will be in the pudding. CES is in early January so it's not too long to wait. I have high hopes for AMD. This would be a really big win for them.

The 5.1ghz boost clock is the exciting part, IMO. If AMD has done this they may have finally dethroned Intel. As a tech enthusiast I have only seen this happen once before and it was glorious and great for the industry overall.

As a person who used the 1700x as a server CPU, I'm happy the upgrade path is looking worth the investment as the double core count with the strong but not best threaded performance is staying strong.

$99 for what could be equivalent to or better than an 8700K. It's unbelievable if true. And amazing news for PC gamers and enthusiasts.

The Ryzen 5 seems to be the least attractive option. You pay $80 more vs the 3300 and get 2 more cores, but if you paid $200 more you get 6 more cores. The pricing is a bit whack, my spidey sense is tingling. I hope this is not another SCAMD move.

Yup. Looks good. Been using AMD for a long time. Still got some old ones kicking around strong. Recently bought and built Ryzen 7. Way to go. With more competition, let's bring down the CPU prices.

I saw this rumor yesterday and my erection was maximum. I'm happy I bought a Crosshair VII board. Was definitely overkill for a 2700x, doesn't look so stupid now.

Do I have any hope of the 3850X slotting into my X470 board? Or will that likely be threadripper territory?

Worst case scenario the 3700X looks sexy.
