I work for a company which sells Interac/CC terminals and the reason why one cannot pay for ex. his rent with a CC is quite simple: It costs money to accept a CC. So, since rent is usually taken by a private party, these people do not really want to pay for the extra fees that range from 1.5% to 4.5%.
I recently participated in a survey that was asking about "What if an insurance company would allow you to charge the premium through your CC?" so I guess that it is possible even though I am sure that they would transfer the fee to the consumer (no surprise there, you get nothing for nothing).
I pay my university courses with my CC, but I never had a student loan so I don't know about this...

Well I got my cash back yesterday. I've been using since a couple months (pay rent) a couple big ticket items etc. I got $35.
What are the conditions of 1 year extended warranty though. How does it work?
Do I have to pay labour and or parts if my laptop is dead after its normal warranty?

I got my car insurance from RBC which is the lowest I could get last year. I get quote from various car insurance company every year and the winner of last year was RBC (the year before was Monnex and the year before was PCF, ...) I was surprised that they did not impose any extra charge for me to pay through CC monthly. i.e. regardless how I pay it, one lump sum or monthly, bank account or CC, the total charge is the same. I guess being part of a bank makes a lot of thing easier.

Thanks OP, just received my card in the mail.
First time amex cardholder, called in, no further follow up via phone, etc. until the card arrived.
Looks nice, and relatively high credit limit.
This has been asked and answered before, but can I pay my U of T tuition with this? (I read this entire thread when I applied, but no way am I going through this beast again)
