It's actually $6K annually in Canada, and the ****** part is, it doesn't even offer better point levels than the standard Platinum card, so the benefits are somewhat dubious. You get some other nice benefits, though - then again, of which some are being pulled off (like 2-for-1 Mandarin Oriental nights being removed - there's another $500 benefit gone). I guess if you travel a LOT and have no time to deal with anything, then the Concierge services are good - but then again, so is the Concierge of the Platinum card. Anyway - you're unlikely to spend time on RFD at that point. FlyerTalk - yes. But not RFD :P

Or AMEX Aeroplan/CIBC AeroGold. It takes too long / costs too much with Avion Infinite to fly anywhere, if only because there's no other way to collect miles (i.e. you must stick to the Avion, whereas with Aeroplan you can go VISA / several kinds of Amex / etc., so it's a bit easier to get to the desired point level).
