GCR responded to my enquiry by email, and then directed me to a link to fill out another form with tracking ID and AMEX's confirmation number. However, GCR only review the cases at the start of the month, so will not hear back from them until June.

Yes, sorry about the mis-info in my previous post...GCR responds in 1 day...but it is AMEX that processes missing transactions once a month.

Here is the email I got from GCR:

Sorry about your missing transaction. You should have received your rebate by now.

Unfortunately, your approval never showed up in the reports from American Express Canada. This does happen occasionally. You get a rebate if the approval is in the reports they provide us. We can submit a missing transaction inquiry to them with information that identifies you and came from our GCR.

Note : the confirmation number you entered in email below is incorrect. It should look like this 20120893600308CAD


We will submit your information to American Express Canada. They will then process your missing transaction and report back to us.

American Express Canada processes all missing transactions manually once a month after the end of each month. We will submit your missing transaction information on June 1. American Express Canada should reply in the second half of June.

We will waive the 45 day wait once it is posted into your account.

does anyone know how the travel insurance coverage works? Ie, as a card holder, am I the only one covered? Or is it anyone in the same PNR as me? Or any travel booked using my card?

Just had to make a claim. They said even though it's a business card only you and your immediate family is covered. Kinda silly since its a business card if you ask me, but that is what I was told.

American Express Canada updated their software mid April. This caused tracking problems under certain situations. They fixed the problem and were able to collect the missed credit card orders that came from GCR. Today, they reported the missed orders. We processed those orders and posted the rebate for your Amex credit card into your account today. The post date is today. This closes the ticket you submitted for the missing rebate.

When does AMEX award the 25K bonus MR points? Do you have to hit the required spend ($3K in 3 months) first? And if so, how soon afterwards do the points show up? Days? Weeks? Months?

Wrong.... The moment you hit $3,000 in spending, the 25K amex points gets credited instantly which you can then convert to aeroplan straight away.

Thanks m_s! I also got a PM saying the same...the bonus points will appear within days of hitting the $3K spend requirement.

Next on the agenda...gotta do some heavy spending and get the bonus, so I can cash in on the current Aeroplan Conversion promo...deadline is June 18th.
