[Amazon] Amazon Appstore (One-Paid App Per Day For Free) *Updated Daily*

Each day, Amazon (.com and .ca) is going to offer a new app for you to download, normally something you’d have to pay to do.

Image

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amazon’s Android Appstore has finally launched in Canada after debuting on the U.S.-only Kindle Fire two years ago. The company announced it would be expanding to over 200 countries in the near future.
Amazon offers its Appstore as a third-party download, so you’ll need to check “Allow Unknown Sources” in your phone’s or tablet’s Settings/Developers or Settings/App menu to ensure it will install.
Install the Amazon Appstore:
Amazon.ca - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/feature.html?i ... tion-guide
Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html? ... buy_client
The main issue with any app’s downloaded from Amazon is that you must have the Appstore itself installed to use the corresponding downloads. Remove the APK and you lose the ability to launch any connected apps. This won’t be an issue for many users, but it may get confusing and/or frustrating for those who tire of the secondary app portal but want to maintain the ability to use those free daily apps.
Amazon has in the past secured some short-term exclusive titles, so it may be a good idea to keep it hanging around on your phone until you need something specific.

Third to thank. Hopefully there won't be posts saying "oh I created a thread before and you're copying me, etc". Because I created a thread similar for a Google Play thread for a week sale or something but the previous OP didn't update it. When I created a new thread, people started ripping on me for copying it, etc.

If anyone creates beef, I'll back you up :)

If I helped in any way, click that cool little "Thanks" button.

It's weird. Today I got the free app on Amazon. It was Totemo hd. My wife's says it's tetris

Any idea why she got a different app? I just double checked both of ours. Hers still says tetris, mine totemo

It looks like Totemo HD is free today on Amazon.com, but not Amazon.ca. However, now that my .ca account has a device attached to it, it's letting me get apps from the .com site at the .com price.

On the other hand, Tetris is free on the amazon.ca site, and not free on the amazon.com site.

Totemo free on amazon.COM:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EL ... nSuccess=1

And $2.05 on amazon.CA:
http://www.amazon.ca/Hexage-Ltd-Totemo- ... rds=totemo

Tetris $2.99 on amazon.COM: http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Arts-I ... rds=tetris

And free on amazon.CA: http://www.amazon.ca/Electronic-Arts-In ... rds=tetris

Pretty cool, looks like we get two free apps every day! Now OP has to keep track of the free app of the day on amazon.com and amazon.ca!

As an aside, I don't think Jetpack Joyride and Angry Birds are necessarily free apps "of the day" per se, they should probably be in a different category, like "Paid Google Play Store Apps Free on Amazon" or something. (Tapatalk is another app that falls into this category)

Is there an easy way to get both apps, I had to change country and one click option before I'm able to.

You shouldn't have to change any options, just follow the links I posted (.ca for Tetris, .com for Totemo).

I see 3 similar threads right at the top of the Freebies forum (two of these threads need to die BTW) and all I see is a bunch of confusion about what apps are free today.

There needs to be a thread with a first post clearly stating that both the .CA and .COM sites each have a DIFFERENT free app every day. The Canadian one can be bought inside the app or on the amazon.ca site, but to get the American one, you have to go onto the amazon.com site and login there. I use the same email address for both sites, and it automatically recognized my Le Pan II when I signed in through the app's page on the amazon.com site.

In short: if the OP sets up this thread correctly and maintains it properly, this thread will be the easy way to get both apps. :D

Just a heads up guys,

There's also an app in the Google Play Store for Canadians call 'App of the Day', each day the app updates with info on a paid app that is now free for 24hrs.

From Google Play:

Every day, the team chooses the "App of the Day" from one of the best, actually paid apps from the Google Play Store and is negotiating with the developers to make their app free for 24 hours.

This concept, which is already in the U.S. and many other European countries very popular enables all smartphone owners to annually save many hundreds of pounds for the purchase of apps.

AppOfTheDay has been around for a long time... It shouldn't be confused with Amazon's Free App of The Day. But yeah, that's definitely a good service, I've gotten a couple decent paid apps free on there.

Today's Amazon Free App of the Day is Plasma Sky - it's the free app on both the amazon.com and amazon.ca site today. (I've included both links for reference, but it doesn't matter which one you download from)

Is the Amazon.COM appstore laggy/slow for anyone else? It seems rather slow on my HTC One.
Also, my Amazon.COM and Amazon.CA account is the same email address. Anyway around this to get the app of the day for both? My email defaulted to Amazon.COM

An Awesome perk!!! - This is awesome!!! I just got this email after I downloaded the App of the day of Amazon.COM

No issues here with lag, works fine on my Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus. Although I didn't get an email though :( . Was it part of the purchase order email?
