ah... the ones you can buy now almost all are... X2 predates AM2 by a year

why is 939 cpu's still expensive. For god sake's AM2 is way cheaper and its more recent? Or is it simply because 939 is more expensive to produce?

I don't believe they make S939 any more so stores charge more because they're 'rare'

Wow, prices are dropping fast. I've got an Asus m2n4-sli mobo and 2x512mb HyperX 533 ram. I've always been an AMD supporter since the K6 days. Not sure if I should get one of these processors or sell the mobo and go for a c2d
