Another Paypal questions
Now I need help with paypal acct. When I received a payment about $180USD, paypal charged me $5.xx fee. I thought it was free to receive money, and paying fees if I want to transfer money out of paypal (to my bank account)???
Now if I wanted to transfer money out of my paypal acct to my bank acct, do I have to pay $ to paypal again???
Sorry for the newbie questions. I hate paypal now :-(

You have a premier/business paypal account, which charges a fee when receiving funds (no matter if it's funded by a credit card or paypal funds, it's still called "instant" on transaction page and will be charged the fee to receive funds).
See Paypal site for fees :

If you have a PERSONAL account, it's free- but then you can't accept credit cards (and possibly one or two other types of payment).
There's no doubt that paypal is making TONS of money off of these accounts!

If you want a useful tool to figure out how much you'll end up with after PayPal fees, you can use this site: http://www.ppcalc.com/
You can use it to adjust your shipping and handling fees accordingly.

All they charge is 55c + 2.9%, which is pretty good rates considering most credit card processors charge 3%+

It's better than having to deal with the hassle of having the buyer send you a money order, recieving it weeks later, having to wait for it to c lear your bank, then ship out an item that was bought two weeks prior!
Not to mention lots of people won't buy from eBay unless it is through paypal - I know I won't. I know their protection for the buyer is regarded as lax sometimes, but it is better than 0 protection like you get via money order.
So if you don't accept paypal you'll get less bids == lower closing price == less money, probably much more than 2.9% less.
EDIT: hi sis not to say I support the eBay / Paypal extortion scheme. I would prefer to use Google Checkout for things I auction (fees are lower and frankly I trust Google's rep more than Paypals), but eBay does not allow most payment processors except Paypal. And they know there are no other popular online auction sites.
I just can't wait until Google base handles auctions better, is promoted, and takes off - eBay needs a good kick in the pants from a viable competitor like Google.

if you want to transfer paypal money to your canadian bank account, it will cost 50 cents if you have less than 150 $.
If you have over 150$ it is free.
In the US, it's free to transfer any amount of money to your bank account. And for any country, it's always free to withdraw.
