I know he's already grabbed a Peameal Bacon sandwich from Carousel Bakery in the St. Lawrence Market... then he went to Tosho Knife Arts for a knife and now he's in Kensington Market somewhere.
I'd love to see how they filmed the showed. I've never looked at Toronto from a tourist's perspective.

I read it. It is one of the reasons I think Bourdain is a fake.
The book is about a self absorbed cook (not chef) in New York 10+ years ago. It shook up the New York eatery scene and everyone knows how Americans like their bad boys.
He is a verbose (and not eloquently verbose) typical American. Even Andrew Zimmern is more entertaining and informative when he is eating in the Penis restaurant in China LOL_______________

one thing i love about the show is when he goes somewhere with awesome street food (usually it's asia). unfortunately toronto has sh*tty street food so i'm not expecting much from the episode. he would actually do good by showing how we need to improve this part of our culture in the city.

have you worked in the industry?
his level of self-awareness is much more apparent in his later book, medium raw. he is painfully aware of his short-comings as a 'chef'. he's said it many times that he's 'just a cook'. you are entitled to your opinion, of course, but i don't think you know enough about his work.
zimmern is entertaining and much more likeable in general, but he doesn't come close to displaying the level of complexity bourdain possesses.
i like zimmern; really enjoyed him when he toured the muslim countries, and when he unknowingly, i think, drank fermented horse milk in mongolia that is ALCOHOLIC. i wonder how he felt after._______________

I think you agree with my basic comments. I responded to your claiming he was "cool" based on his Kitchen Confidential book, I disagreed.
Bourdain, by his own admission of being a cook, hardly displays a level of complexity, except perhaps in his rambling prose. His shows are often him with a hangover or rambling speeches and as much bleeped out as they have proper information.
Anyway, I hope he does Toronto justice. He said lots of good things in his shows about Montreal and Vancouver._______________

I liked him in the beginning but lately he's resorting to lame tactics like insulting other people or food personalities just to grab headlines and act controversial
I'm finding him more and more annoying every time I read about him lately..
Kitchen Confidential was "okay" but I much preferred A Cooks Tour.
I have all his books.._______________come troll our unofficial chatroom at #redflagdeals on EFnet
