That is what I have been doing. I just diconnect the cable, reconnect whenever I need to use the fax machine.

I believe the poster is looking to add a device to stop incoming fax, instead of turning the fax machine off.

So my solution for you is to install an answering machine. Set it to pick up the phone with one ring only, and it will pick up the fax before the fax machine could!

Use a computer as your fax machine. Then it doesn't matter if you have junk faxes, just delete them. Print out the ones you want.
