Any Easy And Cheap ways to calibrate plasma and LCD???

Getting frustrated with the endless searches in google related to calibration.

is ther any quick and easy way to calibrate a monitor and a plasma tv?

The spyder2 (hardware calibrator) looks interesting but it does not work on plasmas

if that doesn't work try avsforums and just look for your tv model. I'm sure somebody has their settings posted up

Laziest way (yet reasonable) like mentioned, is to clone the setting others are using. Many branded HDTVs do not require any significant color setting changes so it is pretty easy to figure out the contrast and brightness settings others are using. Surprisingly, they are very close.

If you have a HD-DVD or Blu-ray player, DL the AVS HD, burn a DVD and calibrate with it...I find both HD players' calibrations are almost the same but they are slightly different from the DVD calibration like THX Optimizer and AVIA.

some disney pixar dvd's and blurays have calibration features on them.. have a look on google for which ones. i believe star wars has some too
