Hi All,
I need to replace my furnace (the control board of my 13-year old Bryant furnace died). So I have got these quotes for a dual-stage 45,000 BTU furnace:
- Service Experts (seem very knowledgeable and reliable):
Lennox $4,500 + tax, installation included, air cleaning system included.
10 year warranty parts and labour warranty, covers 1st annual maintenance, and a $100 yearly maintenance to be paid by me thereafter
- National Home Services
Lennox $4,500 + tax
Offered me to rent the furnace for $62.50/month + tax (that's about twice the price over 10 years), so no thank you.
- TAG Energy
Goodman $3,000 + tax, installation included
10 year parts and labour warranty, covers 1st annual maintenancem and a $80 yearly maintenance to be paid by me thereafter.
There is a $1,500 difference between TAG Energy quote and the other 2. I have read reviews and Goodman seems like a solid brand despite being in the low-end price range. Has anybody had any experience dealing with TAG Energy? I know for sure that I won't have surprises with Service Experts, but I would like to hear opinions about TAG Energy help me make a decision.
Or if any experiences with Goodman furnaces may be shared.
Thank you in advance.

From what I know goodman furnaces are crap. A colleague bought one of those at a good price. He had only a 5 year warranty though. Within the warranty period, he had two circuit board replacements on the house. Right after the warranty was over, the next circuit board failure led him to getting a new furnace because it was crazy having to do this repair every few years.

Thank you will888.
Another A/C company quoted an American Standard (from Trane), 60,000 BTU for $2,800 + tax. 10 years parts warranty, lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger (seems like this is the standard warranty for a furnace nowadays). First 3 yearly maintenance services included, and $89 for each maintenance service thereafter to keep the warranty current. Problem is that this is a one man company, though he seems knowledgeable.
Any experiences with American Standard (or Trane) furnaces?_______________
