Any good restaurants in Barbados?

Hey all, Has anyone been to Barbados recently? Can you suggest any good restaurants in Barbados? We are planning a trip to Barbados. So, searching for a place where we could find some healthy foods.
Thank you.

A lot depends on WHERE you are on the island, it is not terribly huge at 14 miles wide x 21 miles wide, touristy areas have distinct pockets along both the west & south coasts. Getting around is somewhat of a challenge (rental cars are super expensive, and taxis are not cheap either), plus the roads are pretty rustic country roads that are often a slow go & congested with traffic (and the odd goat). So always easier to navigate in the daytime hours. I would encourage you to do your longer treks in daylight... Then you can also truly see the country, and get to know the locals, using the local bus routes is easy & fun.

The West Coast is aka "the Platinum Coast" (previously the Gold Coast) because of all the high end properties / shops & celebrities that flock there.

As to specific Restaurants, Barbados has lots to choose from. Some of the better high end spots are found on the West Coast, some are standalone while others are associated with various Hotels.

A West Coast iconic one is The Cliff (expensive), but many consider dining at The Sandy Lane Hotel (crazy expensive) to be the ultimate experience.

If you are a Hockey Fan, Eugene Melnyk's Bert's is a fun casual spot in Rockley, Christ Church on the south coast.

Trust me though there is lots to choose from between these. And a good deal of Caribbean Food on offer with local character too.

Be aware that Dining out in Barbados is expensive compared to Canada / USA ... As everything is either brought in by boat or air. Want to shock yourself go walk around a grocery store.

For more info on Barbados check out their tourism website, and the various reviews etc on TripAdvisor.
