Anyone in the 300,000km+ club?

Anyone have a car with more then 300,000 km?
I want to hear your stories.
What type of car do you have?
How do you maintain your car?
What type of driving do you do?

2001 Lexus IS300
I get sythetic blend oil changes every 6000km.
@ 300,000km I changed the timing belt & water pump. I also changed fluids where all possible fluids could be change... This is a pre-emptive measure I've taken to assist me in my goal of 400!

I'm currently at 330,000km. My goal is to break the 400 mark... and maybe get into the 500s.
@ my current rate its going to take me 4 years to hit 400.
I do mostly city driving. But my mileage builds up from road trips...

I have/had multiple vehicles over 300k km.

What type of car do you have? 97 Lexus ES300 (currently at +425k km), 97 Toyota Corolla (sold at 300k km), 99 Honda Odyssey (sold at 320k km)
How do you maintain your car? I do most of the work myself.
What type of driving do you do? Combined city/hwy

On my ES300, I use group3 synthetic oil. Oil change every 12000km. Oil filter change every 6000km.

I bought a 2000 Toyota Echo 4door 2 years ago, at 289 000 km. I needed something good on gas for my daily commute since my other car is a gas guzzler. Two years later, I now have 337 000 km. Running well, and I'm getting 7L/100km fuel economy. Fuel economy is better when it's all highway. Spent $1800 on the used car, and it has saved me a lot on gas!

Maintenance: very little. Oil changes every 6-8k km with regular dino oil. I do fix any misc items myself.
Driving pattern: up and down the DVP every day

Still driving my 99 Corolla with 352,000+ km on it.

Nothing really beyond basic maintenance (oil changes every 5K w/ regular 5W-30, filters, underside rust-proofing every few years etc.). Minor rusting on the doors. Besides the standard consumables and starter motor, all other parts are original.

I drive mostly highways and I baby that engine as much as I can much to the chagrin of the people behind me who don't like my slow accelerations and max speeds of 10 over the limit

I've been clocking between 55,000 to 60,000 klicks a year on the odometer for the past 4 years.

I hate people like you. Completely selfish in my opinion. Matches the typical corolla stereotype perfectly.

I have a 96 Acura 3.5RL that has ONLY 455,000KM on it. I've had it for about 9 years.

I just read my Acura service manual and it says the oil should be changed at every 12000Km but I have always run synthetic oil and changed at about 7000km. I've replaced the driver side cv axle once. A rear o2 sensor. Never replaced the timinng belt but I open it up for inspection every now and then. both front calipers and both rear wheel bearings.

According to manufacturer specs it only drinks premium gas an it should get an avg of 21mpg but I always get a little more.

Overall Great car but the relationship is slowly getting sour because of her drinking habits... ;-)

Got a 2003 Acura MDX with 367,000km on it.. still running strong!
Get it serviced at Acura, i have had no major issues with it at all, just the usual brakes, oil changes.. most expensive repair since i had it would have been a wheel bearing repair ($300).
We use to have a Honda Accord also that had around 700,000km on it,, it still ran actually when we sold it for $200.. the body was just too rusted on it.

I find that funny since I'm also like Winkle and don't have a problem with it. I keep my excessive driving to Mosport Speedway and Drag Strips and have a chuckle when ever I see tailgaters and speeders pulled over. Ya got to love it. :cheesygri

My last 90 Bonneville SSE that I owned for 18 years had approximately 500k before I drove it to my friends place and gave it to him. He put another 50k on it before the body started falling apart and used it for parts.

Urban, you are a bit crazy bro. The car is on it's 11th year of it's life and you already have 300k plus mileage. My cars usually barely hit 100k for 5-6years. So in it's 10th year, it won't even pass 200k.

Nice car and it's lasting, which is good. Loved the IS300 when I was a kid.

Wow, that's at least 600 hours of driving a year.

Drive safe.

Had a '97 sunfire that I took to just over 300k before selling. Nothing special to maintain it, just regular fluid changes and repairs as they came up. Drove across Canada with it twice, the rest of the time it was just commuting to work and back.

What exactly is the Corolla stereotype anyway? I see it mentioned related to slow drivers, to aggressive drivers, to stupid drivers, etc, so it doesn't seem like there really is a stereotype.
