Phoenix has started to show some signs of feeling a bit better. He is eating well and going outside for regular bowel movements. He even barked for the first time today.
We finally got confirmation of his specialist appointment today and he will be going next Monday to have the cancer on his tongue checked out. Unfortunately that was the earliest appointment we could get. We will know more about what if anything can be done to treat the cancer after that appointment. In the meantime we are continuing to treat the other issues he has by building up his immune system and trying to clear up his infections.
We have recieved test results confirming the presence of cancer cells on Phoenix's tongue.
We are planning to transfer him to a specialist to determine the next course of treatment or other options
that are in his best interest. His skin condition has been diagnosed and it has been determined that it should respond well to medical treatment. Our website will be updated on a regular basis as to his condition.
We are still looking for any information from the public as to who owned this lovely dog.
The reward for information leading to the identity of Phoenix's owner and their conviction is now up to $5,350.
All money donated other than for the reward will go towards his medical costs.

Now to find the owner.
The only thing that could make this situation worse is if Pheonix's previous owner has another dog...

Agreed, but heck... just a headline hugger i guess. Just like hospitals that do complex surgeries that cost bundles on some 3rd world kid... where as those funds could probably medicate their entire community.
So yeah, I have to agree with you. I'll be in the same boat with you and most pet lovers will hate me. -sg

That $1000 can be used to help a lot of other animals, put a syringe in this dog and move on....
