Around 5pm or so these two F-18's were hauling major arse headed in a Northwesterly direction from King/Dufferin area. They were really low as well. When I say low, I mean they disappered behind a 17 floor highrise's roofline and emerged on the other side tearing up the sky. (could have just been my angle at the time and they were higher than it seemed, but that is still low) Have not seen or heard anything on the news about things happening. Just odd because it is not even close to the practice times for the CNE airshow.

They were heading south when we saw them.
No big deal. Have seen them several times over the past year or so....remember last Mothers day they were flying around the island for a few hours....

Over 300 innocent civilians killed in 20+ attacks in one city...and that's just in the last 2 years.

Jun 24th, 2012 12:57 AM #10So they flew them here from 700+ kilometres, when CFB Trenton is closer? Maybe Trenton doesn't have CF18's but they do have other military craft no? Seems a waste of fuel/time/money to fly them from further away... Bagotville is EAST of Montreal, so that's 700+ kilometres, while Trenton is around 200km. If they had used military craft from Trenton, it would have probably cost 1/2 what this did. This probably cost Canadian Tax payers several million dollars. The flyby will take place shortly after 4:30 p.m. on June 23. The jets will conduct their flyby at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest point of the stadium before resuming a higher flying altitude for the return to home base at 3 Wing Bagotville, Quebec.

I read somewhere before, usually with these actual military fly-bys (meaning not snow birds or blue angels style entertainment) the planes are undergoing tests and or the pilots were undergoing training anyway and they just schedule a flyby into said training. So maybe that is why these came all the way from Quebec. Also, CFB Trenton is a major NATO base and I am sure they are required to keep x amount of equipment on stand by for x amount of time, so maybe just a logistics thing.

Pilots MUST fly a certain number of hours per month.
So - they can go an fly in circles or they can do something.
Flying 700 km from Bagotville (fighter base)
flight time is less than one hour to get here

They used to fly over my house in Victoria, and they've flown over our house in the windsor area a few times as well. They're just reminding me who own's this country.
