Jan 28th, 2006 05:55 PM #20i currently work at starbucks. starting rate is 8.25/hr and you get tips depending on how many hours you put in. its best to go online and see if there are any starbucks open house, where there are a bunch of managers in one store, who interview/recruit people on the spot.

as a part-time barista, you have to put in at least 15 hours/week and the benefits would be: free 1lb coffee/week, free drinks during shift, 30% off beverages purchased outside of shift, 40% store products and health benefits after working there for 3 months.
you dont need any experience to become a sbux barista..after you have been accepted, you get trained by the store manager or supervisor and then attend a one day coffee class at the starbucks coffee school (located in north york)
if you got any other questions, feel free to pm me.
good luck!

This is a job for people who:
a) LOVE coffee
b) enjoy customer service
c) can handle REALLY detailed requests for several items (half-caf-double-decaf-caf-foam with a twist of lemon, please!) [
]
d) can handle a LONG line of requests one after the other
e) can keep smiling through it all
f) have little or no experience in any other job field, so it's either this or work in a call center._______________
