does this require an data/internet connection to play? also curious how this looks on iPhone.
No data is needed. I play it on my iPad sometimes when away from home and no internet.

Apple FTL...sounds about right.
What does that even mean?

Still no Android version?
Could HAVE, not could OF. What does 'could of' even mean?

FTW means “for the win” so I assume it’s a joke implying “for the loss”

Is there a way to buy this game without an iPad and have it in my library?
iTunes account should let you buy it unless they changed that.

I bought this last year for $3.99 and it has still been the single best purchase I have ever made for the iPad (not inc free apps).

It takes some time to get good, but there is a great online community and lots of YouTube tutorials and walk throughs.

I started out on easy, and disabled advanced edition. Then after I beat and unlocked every ship, I played normal and hard and then switched to adv ed. I still find it fun. I love boarding, using hacking, mind control, timing attacks, etc. I now just let the program select a random ship in AE and hard mode.

Definitely a great game that takes patience and time to understand and get used too. And it is not forgiving. One bad mistake means you have to start over. It is quite challenging.

This game is awesome for the price you pay. The amount of play hours you will be spending vs the amount you pay is well worth it. Chalk up the first 10 tries a hard lesson. You will die.

Some pointers:
1. It is not a speed race to get to the end of the system. So plot your jumps and know how fast the enemy advances each turn.
2. Learn the weapons and learn how to use your resources. Burst laser and flak is great for taking down shields. Bombs teleport through shields.
3. Learn to target specific enemy systems
4. Each special encounter has set endings. Learn what option does what when you do your multiple play throughs.
5. TIP: Zoltan Transport - Always select the option to hear them out = best reward
6. Have fun! That's all I can remember off the top of my head. (yes this game is still on my desktop after 1 year lol)

Edit: I just remembered, you can pause your firing cycle to time it to fire all at the same time or in spurts or to fire your beam after the enemy shields go down. Unsure if it's possible on iOS.

Apple stopped app purchases on iTunes v12.6.3 (currently 12.7.5). They should be able to find an older version of iTunes and make the purchase with that.
