[Apple] Refurbished 4th Gen Apple TV 64GB $189 free shipping

Apple.ca has refurbished 4th generation Apple TV 64GB models in stock for $189 (previously priced at $229 for refurbished 64GB models). Great deal for those who don't need 4K resolution.

Honestly at US$179 for the new 4K Apple TV, this deal is not that attractive. The new Apple TV is a great piece of hardware with A10X CPU that kicks every other box's ass including the Nvidia Shield TV. Just wait for Canadian launch.

You guys are comparing the 32GB US ATV4K pricing vs. 64GB model of the refurbished 4th gen. At least compare it to the $199US pricing then.

Fair but with the Apple TV I would argue that the extra storage is a waste of money. Especially the way it limits memory per app.

Are you sure? nVidia Shield TV is way better than the apple 4K tv IMO.

I'm debating on whether to get 4K or 4th gen one. I'm going to use it to airplay with my iPhone.

Anyone else use it for that purpose and how do you like it?

Agreed, A10X is quick but the TV app store was a big disappointment, they'll need to step it up to convince me it can compete with the Shield TV.

Own a Atv 4, but honestly the new 4K model is going to be much faster even if you don’t need 4K.

Another nice alternative is a nvidia sheild or amazon fire tv if you are into the android thing (own both)

I am looking forward to the a10x cpu in the new atv 4k, after using it in my iPad Pro. That thing is a beast for performance, definitely beating anything but the latest Apple a11 devices.

Depends what you're using it for. Crave TV doesnt have an an Android TV app in Canada - it has Chromecast, but then you need your phone or computer to watch. Amazon Prime also doesnt have a Android TV app (with the exception of the Shield), and will be launching on Apple TV by year end. Sportsnet Now offers an Apple TV app, Chromecast only for Android.

As we continue to move into live Sports, I'm hoping we will see TSN GO get Apple TV connectivity as well. It seems like Canadian content providers lean towards Apple TV
