Applecare question about replacing 4S

If you need a replacement phone from Apple, does anyone know if they will still give you the 4S or if they will automatically give you the 5 now?

It depends on the particular store's stock level. If they happen to run out of all 4S models, they might give you a 5. My guess is that you have a better chance of upgrading an iPhone 4 to 4s than a 4s to 5.

Lots of 4s stock out there, it is at there descretion to upgrade to 5 but no obligation to, they can simply say come back in 3 days and we will have replacement for you.

They will give you iPhone 4s.

I know someone yesterday brought the iPhone 4s to Apple Store to fix and they couldn't fix it. They gave him a new iPhone 4s.

May be you can try to call the store to check if they have any iPhone 4s in stock. If they don't then try your luck on that store to see if you can get iPhone 5.
