Lots of appliance deals in the Lowes flyer.

Any opinions on the Samsung front-loading steam washer and dryer combo on the front page? We're in the market for a washer-dryer and Miele is out of our price range.

That LG washer is certainly not a "hot" price. It's a VERY small entry level front loader.

Yeah, I'm planning to avoid LG. How about the Samsung though?

The Samsung prices were hotter a few months ago when it was sale price + 15% off.

I'd be interested in good prices on 24" washer/dryer sets.

I think the best deal for the laundry pair right now is the samsung washer and dryers combo at future shop. It's the 4.6 cu ft washer with steam and power foam. As well as steam dryer 7.4 cu ft.

$1379.98

I decided on buying the LG WM3070HVA washer from Lowes currently at $798 ($400 off regular price) + 10% off (e-mail signup) + cash back.

This is the Consumer Reports recommended "best buy" in their December 2013 report (your library should give you free online access). Also, LG is rated as having the lowest repair rate (6%) with Samsung coming in a close second (7%) with the rest of the pack trailing (10% or greater). The whole industry seems like a bit of a crapshoot, but I feel like I've done my research and the price is good for this unit.

Also, from what I could tell, having the "steam" feature in a washer is pretty much a gimmick (just to up the price). It would have some usefulness in a dryer (we mostly air dry anyway), but not in a washer.
