I've heard there are few companies in Calgary that will do this for free or at a low cast. I have an older, working stove to give away. Any leads on that would be appreciated.

Put it in the bargain finder. A working stove will sell for cash, dead ones will usually get picked up for free by appliance repair people wanting parts.
