[Dell] Dell SMB Day 5 of Deals: 320GB HD $30, Belkin 12-Outlet Home Theatre Surge $14 & More

It's that time again. Dell.ca Small Business is holding a Days of Deals Event running from February 14 to February 25! If you haven't paid much attention to them in the past, Days of Deals events mean there are a series of 1-day only offers each day. Deals go live at approximately 6AM eastern time every day and hot deals can sell out, so it's not a bad idea to have a look early. The event runs until February 25 excluding weekends.

Day 5 Items Day 5 Systems Shipping should be free for all items with the possible exception of Latitude, Precision, and server products.

i have a feeling the product image is incorrect and that all you get is a surge protector... i googled the manufacturer number and all results point to a single surge protector and not a 'kit' as shown in the dell image

Not so easy there Ma…
Great price $15.99 (save $34.99) on the Nokia BH-216 bluetooth headset. The description doesn't say it but the headset has an easy access volume control lever. Good volume can be obtained for noisier environments. The sound quality is quite good on this too. Pushing in the volume control lever mutes the mic. Bluetooth range is fairly typical. The on/off button is designed so that it never gets turned on or off by accident. It supports voice commands if the device connected to it does.

Works with a PC too if you have VOIP or whatever and the volume control is convenient. Bluetooth receivers are cheap at meritline.com if your PC lacks one.

Free shipping apparently.

Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade RAM on Dell Days of Deal system (Vostro desktop)
4GB --> 6GB

An option is not available online, but how about if you call / chat with them?

Any comment on the Trendnet 16pt Gbit switch? Never see 16pt Gbit this cheap, and it is a smart switch too.

Yeah, few times its been on for 139. I've got two from them in the past at that price. Use one at home and one at a small office. Great performance, never any issues. IMO its a steal at $99.

I was actually going to get my work to order one of these yesterday (it was already $70 off on their top 10 smb deals sale for the past week or so, but this is even better!) I'm optimistic about this thing... from what i can tell it seems early versions were missing some features that were on other 'smart switches' but these ought to have them by now. Spec-wise it seems similar to the rest of the switches in this class.

ordered the 13.99 belkin surge (whatever it is, we dont know yet) but the 5% code is not working for some reason, but not going to hurt my head about that.

if i get the 12 outlet one = win because it is normally 16.99 on sale (and 13.99 is the lowest price)
if i get that hdtv essential kit = win because of the extra HDMI cable and I dont think i needed all 12 outlets anyway and 8 is plenty

Great deal!

Any opinion?

does your son download stuff?
if so i'd say 320GB is not enough nowadays... (assuming this is the only drive going in there)

get at least a 640GB WD Black ... in my opinion anyways

Laughing @ the thought of anyone paying $949 for this system. Based on retail pricing, $449 is a decent price, but it's still a system you can't do any gaming with. If that's your object, you'd be better building your own.

Great deal!

I like your thoughts. Doesn't hurt to have a few of these around for this price.

No, I'm not really concerned with the size, more with the relative performance and reliability. For that price I'm not expecting SSD or WD black performance. But I don't want it to be an issue speed wise since it's going to be an OS drive. He can allways upgrade to an SSD down the road.
