Just got this email that Organics Delivered is out if business.

To me it sounded like it from reading other people's replies online.

Dear Organics Customers;

It is with deep regret that I inform you of the cessation of service with Organics Delivered Ltd. as a food box program in all of our locations across North America. We have been working diligently in pursuit of alternative solutions including financing but have been unable to crystallize any of these efforts at this time.

Many of you have been with us for well over a year and we have developed bonds beyond mere customer/company status. All our staff want to thank you for your kind words, encouragement and the genuine joy we've had in bringing organic food to your families.

Communications: Email is the only method of exchange now available. Our voice and email boxes have been full and we are doing our best effort to respond to your inquiries, as the office is now closed.

Refunds: For those of you who have boxes remaining undelivered in your subscription, we must guide you to request your refunds via your method of payment, either from Paypal or directly from your credit card service provider. We have a small reserve fund in place withPaypal to account for refunds, and credit card purchases may carry a degree of purchase insurance. Please check with your credit card company.

In my heart, I can only hope that you will continue to look to certified organic suppliers for your food needs. The organic food industry has bold and true values to promote the health of ourselves and our planet. Our suppliers, local staff and delivery companies have always had the primary focus to deliver the promise of organics to you. We thank them all greatly for their dedication, hard work and sense of purpose as they are not responsible for this outcome, and have suffered losses as well.

We will be providing referrals to other services in your area where available, and we sincerely hope you will consider their offer. It is our hope that the spirit of convenient and affordable access to clean and safe food will continue.

Please come back to the website for more detailed updates in terms of service referrals and assistance. We will be posting guidance and suggestions as they emerge.

The other post was not as specific and was titled Organics Delivered deal in January.

people might think it is just a discussion about the specific deal.
I added more info and was more specific.

What was the previous business? I think the idea was great, and I enjoyed the produce, but I already felt he didn't have very good business sense before I saw your post. For one thing, unless there is a lot of money still sitting in their bank account, he was using money from contract extensions that hadn't begun yet to fund existing operations. There are some ideas from other people on the facebook group regarding getting refunds.

Well,
next time I sign up for any organics deal I will be sure to just deal with the local farmers and they are more likely to not be "fly by night" kinda people and only sell their own produce.

Good to have a lot more info now.
I am supposed to get a refund from Wagjag, but hopefully the people who signed contracts can get some funds back.

------------
“The long and the short of the shutdown is we grew quickly, developed heavy operational overhead, and when we hit a slowdown in January and February we hit serious cash flow issues that cascaded,” he said.

I have a bit of a hard time believing this.
They did sell tons of coupons on many group deal sites and probably could not keep up with that.
Then that most people on the deal sites just want deals (obviously).
And that is it kind of expensive to sign up and that produce goes up in price in winter.
Almost not surprized :(

Signed up with them for 6 months contract in January. Thankfully after filing a dispute with Visa earlier this month, I got my money back a few days ago.

This is good to hear! At least a few people are getting money back.

Shame on this company for knowing they were in trouble and stealing even MORE money! Group sites need to do their due diligence as well and make sure these companies are legit instead of just taking their cut and not caring what happens after.

Did you receive any deliveries before they folded? I'm trying to find out more info on what strategies are working for people getting refunds, as well as trying to find out more info about any bankruptcy proceedings, but it is difficult to learn anything. I am sharing what I know through a facebook group for former customers.

I only got two deliveries and the remainder of the money left was reimbursed.

I got my refund from Wagjag 2 weeks ago!
pleased with that (was just for the voucher deal), but initially wagjag wanted to credit me $50 and I wanted a actual refund.

In the end I asked wagjag for a $10 credit on top of my refund and did get that :)
If, and very big if I ever sign up for organic delivery it will be though a local farmer.

right now I can buy a weekly vegetable basket (farm only has veggies) and I have to go pick that up,so not really doing that right now.

I ordered the Groupon deal a while back. When my first of two boxes arrived, I saw that some of the fruits and veggies were already in very bad, inedible condition and the rest was completely useless within a day or two. I was disappointed and complained to Groupon, who gave me $30 in credit rather than a refund and cancelled the other half of the order. Good riddance to Organics Delivered! But I do hope that everyone receives their money back in good time.

My order was ok, except I had a bunch of pears that were kind of crushed and inedible.
I mentioned that when they called asking me if I wanted to renew and also emailed them about it and they did not offer anything.
Which is lame,

Also I think one problem with them was that they were claiming they use local produce when possible and when it was the right season they were still giving people US and imported produce and i think that annoyed people a lot.
