Great news for anyone who watches Fringe it has been renewed for a 4th season. Not only surviving Friday night but prospering. Would of been tragic if they dropped such a great series.

This is truly surprising considering:
1. They moved it to Friday nights, usually shows go there to die!
2. It's FOX! They cancel everything!
Nevertheless, I am a huge fan of Fringe so wooohooo!

WOOT!
Didn't think it would happen as many (fans and industry observers alike) were predicting doom and gloom. In all honesty, all signs pointed to cancellation (moved to Friday + declining numbers) but they somehow got it done!
If I remember correctly, the writers wrote the Fringe story with 6 seasons in mind and even said that they will not write for a early cancellation (I guess they would just leave it in limbo if cancelled). So happy that we have at least another season to see more of the writers' vision played out.

This is my one of my favourite shows. I'm so glad it's not cancelled. :)

noooo! It's going to end terribly.
I did love the show, but the story arc is getting stale. Too much of a romance right now. I would've been perfectly happy if they wrapped it all up this season.

I would hope they would and the entire season could be about the actual storyline. I hate those filler episodes.

You can thank Homer Simpson for this. After 40+ years stuck on the same show he finally flipped and demanded a change of scenery. He'd enjoyed his experience in 3-D space before, so he's transferring over to the Fringe alternate world. So long as he sticks around Fringe will be on-air FOREVER.
Here he is at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival:

Neither have I.
I buy the boxsets too. I suspect that's one of the factors in Fox keeping the show going. That and the fact that it's one of the few decent shows still on TV these days, after most of the other decent shows met a premature demise. It won't be long now before viewers stop watching TV completely if the networks keep cancelling popular shows.

I think there still too much to explore about the story for it to have just one more season but if it does end I hope it wraps up how Abrams wants it rather than a rush job.
