Modern Gliders

Anyone know of a place where you can get a modern glider that doesn't put a major dent in the husband's wallet?

I saw these 2 gliders, and love them.. but the price can be a bit steep...

Truth is that we couldn't find one that was any cheaper for a modern glider/rocker. Everywhere we looked the prices were exorbitant. My only suggestion, if it really is outside of your price range would be to check kijiji.

I saw that glider as well, and loved it.. but the price was a wee bit steep.....

we also have the Monte and it's a great glider. Overall though, i do like the one at pottery barn. Much more comfortable, whereas the Monte is pretty firm.

We opted for a leather recliner (lazyboy style) for our nursery and it was the best choice by far.

I slept many nights in it and it was super comfortable. I was able to rock back and forth and when it came time for nursing, I was able to prop myself/child up in the reclining position.

We purchased ours off of kijiji for $450, it was practically brand new, and the person paid $1200 for it.

My kids are 2 and 4.5 and it's still in great condition. The leather feature was nice as it's very easy to clean spit up. Whenever we have friends over they LOVE LOVE LOVE our recliner and wish they had it.

I'd say that $700 for that style chair with the matching ottoman is a very competitive price.

We bought a dutalier upholstered glider from Maclem's in Toronto. I knew what I wanted and called around to multiple stores in the city and they had the best prices.

It was aroudn $600 without thte ottoman. Dunno if they have your style though.

Also, Moms to Be and More tends to have sales that might work in your favour.

I haven't been able to find another retailer who carries the Emily Glider. I'm presuming there could be.. and possibly be branded under another name, but it's such a hard find...!

I agree that the $700 isn't too bad for the style of glider, but of course, i'm always looking for a better deal :)

Isn't the Gus lovely?! I haven't been able to find the GUS anywhere else but Canabee Baby :(

We ended up getting a glider as a baby shower present (not the GUS or the Emily), and it does the job. Not a modern-ish glider, but it does the job! It reclines and glides and has an ottoman.. so we're happy with it.. plus..we didn't have to pay for it! :D

If you don't mind used, then I'd browse craigslist / kijiji as well, although understandably, I know used is not for everyone.

My wife and I bought a great glider with matching ottoman for $50 in our Toronto neighbourhood from craigslist and it was in pretty much new condition.
