Got mail from groupon. ND Sushi & Grill(NOT Sushi Kai) is changing ownership on may 14. New owner won't accept coupon. Use it while you can. They will give refund for unused coupon.
Just sharing the info. So you don't waste a trip there to be disappointed after may14th.
** Sorry to cause fault panic. It's ND Sushi & Grill. I got the mail right after my coupon plus the screen on the phone is so small. So I got a bit confuse. My appology for my stupidity. ***

OMG. :-0
Sushi Kai has been on (what seems like) every deal site, several times! They have sold THOUSANDS of vouchers! The deals kept getting better & better for more money.... kinda like 'the butchers'.
People are going to lose more & more faith in deal sites because of stuff like this.

Wow, thanks for the heads up.
I bought and used one months ago - and was starting to get a little concerned once they kept advertising similar deals through many, many websites.
They may have pulled off a quick pump and dump scheme.

IANAL, but when someone buys a business, don't they also buy that business' debts? Are already-sold coupons (or, say, Gift Cards) considered debts?
Honest question. It seems shady that they can just ignore the business' existing obligations when they buy it, no?

Thanks for your info.
Just wondering, I bought a group deal from webpiggy for this store ... anyone know if I'll be getting a refund?

Agreed. If it was a purchase of a business then it should have been bought with its obligations. But it is possible that the business is in liquidation where the buyer will buy only the place (and possibly will call it something else)

Just talked to the owner and they are not changing owner... Might be you could share with us where did you get the information?
You did mention Groupon, so can anyone else confirmed that they receive e-mail from Groupon?
Got mail from groupon. Sushi Kai is changing ownership on may 14. New owner won't accept coupon. Use it while you can. This last deal, over 500 sold. They will give refund for unused coupon.

Thanks for the correction. When I asked the owner, he is kind of surprise (And a bit angry at the same time) and he said this is their 12th year of business, and he has no plan to quit anytime soon.
Their lunch specially is amusingly cheap! If I remember correctly, their chicken teriyaki is $5 and curry chicken with rice is $6. A chirashi lunch special is $11, but it is uncommonly big. Their fish is good, but their cooked item is kind of hit and miss. (Well, o.k., it is more like hit than miss, but from time to time, I wonder if they have the same cook.....)
For a $35 Voucher, you would need 3 people and ordering the most expensive lunch special to use it up. And if all of you order the chicken teriyaki, well, you will need to do the math... Mind you, the chicken teriyaki isn't small either, and usually you will be full after that and won't be able to share any sushi even if you order.....

Just used webpiggy's coupon last weekend!
Food was great and I plan to go back even if I don't have a group-deal to use.
Moreover, their online reservation makes it even better & easier for me. They reply you the next day by e-mail or phone and service was great!

Yeah you scared me!!!!!
I bought 4 of those Sushi Kai coupons over time and have used 1 so far. Definitely one of the best restaurant deals out there. It's so good I've been fearing they might close or something.
