Wide width shoes

I find that most running shoes that are my size are tighter around the front part of my foot (between the middle of my foot and the toes). Any larger my heel comes out or the arch support is off.

So if say, my shoe size is 10, is it safe to say that I would need to order a size 10 2EE (a wider size)?

I'm asking this since most stores will only special order wide sizes and are not in stock for me to try.

Any help is appreciated.

If you're looking for wider sneakers... you should look at new balance. Not all brands carry different widths... most come in D width which is pretty much the standard.
