Grey gatsby is matte w/ pretty good hold. If you need something stronger you can either use their clay or use sebastian clay.

Gatsby Grunge Mat. It's what I've been using for the past two years. Great stuff and smells great :P

I've used the following and they worked perfectly for me. I have very thick hair though.

-Joico Spiker
-Joico Firm Hold Gel
-Axe Spiked pomade (Medium hair)

Also sometimes using a medium hold spray after using gel helps keeping the fohawk for longer periods of time.

I've been trying to find something to spike my wavy, thick hair and can't find anything. It always goes sloppy and messy never hard and spiky. I want an ultra-gelled hard look (not greasy just rock hard and gelled)

Any suggestions?

Tried it, doesn't keep my hair spiked enough, makes it look messy and then turns white and flaky after.

Maybe you could do a combination. Wax first followed by gel or w/e.

Yeah, effing hair. What a waste of time. If the back of my head wasn't flat I'd shave it all. :D

but my top pick it the pink, if u want a firm hold.
i find the grey has a loose hold for some of my hair styles.

Gatsby grey doesn't hold as well as pink but it's matte compare to the pink. It you want less shine but still want to use the pink, put it on dryer hair. It won't be so shiny.
