What is a good place to eat out for bday dinners? (We're all asian...) In the GTA of course... Preferably Mississauga or Scarborough/Markham...

But not too expensive...? And places that can fit roughly 20 ppl maybe? maybe even more...

Thanks!

yeah, young people generally like buffets. Like Oriental Feast is a popular one and is cheaper than Mandarin.

does it have to be chinese food?

theres these asian/indian/malaysian places that i go to often and theya ll pretty much serve the same thing....all three of these places are run by asian people.

1) Fredericks (Ellesmere and Bellamy)
2) China Corner (Markham & Ellesmere) <-- not sure about location for this
3) Lynn Garden (Victoria Park and Sheppard) <-- dont know if i spelt lynn rite

but yea basically you order big plates of one type of food and you share amongst the people there, its great food, spicy or mild as well.

things like chilli chicken, chicken pakora, beef pakora, noodles, rice, soups, and a whole bucnh of other stuff...its roughly 8-9 bucks per "plate"...so its pretty cheap cause youll get filled easily.

try it out sometime, i love the food there

went to starwalk last night with the family (5 ppl), wasnt bad 18.99 for dinner. they had oysters, blue fin tuna, sirlon steaks, lobster tails, peking duck, smoke salmon sushi, sashimi and tuna. those were the specials so i was told. i usually eat most of the expensive stuff when i go to buffets to really get my money's worth, the only bad thing is they only give 1 oyster, 1 lobster tail at a time. so i had to line up about 6 times :)

i'd also recommend mother tuckers if you dont mind not having asian food, i went there for a b-day wasnt too bad limited food tho but its different.

i also recommend memories of japan

i've gone to starwalk for lunch. was there steamed dim sum for dinner? how large were the lobster tails and were they boiled or stir fried? i prefer my lobster stir fried with onion and ginger.
i like memories of japan (don mills and eglinton) tepannyaki (sp) table but they're usually so busy you can't talk and linger for very long.

does it have to be chinese food?

Well, i've got some relatives that are older, and old chinese ppl get grumpy.

So i guess i'll try to get chinese/japanese food. Just seeing where I can get a better deal.

OMGosh!! I love Lin Garden!! It was right by my work so I went there all the time. I love the Beef with Chili Sauce. It's like Pepper Steak you'd get at Mandarin, but it's so spicy and very tender. The woman there knows me too. They also make the best chicken fried rice I've ever had. I've heard of Frederick's. Do you like it? Do they have similar beef dishes there?

Hmm i'm not sure if the beef you are talking about is the same as "Crispy Beef" as what it is listed on the menu when i ordered it from Lin Garden. But I love that crispy beef.

Yea the three places i mentioned, i've been to all of them and i think they're almost all identical in menu.....all the chilli chicken's taste the same...same with other dishes...i've found fredericks is MUCH more busier than the other two...and a little bit more expensive...although i dont know why...maybe i can't tell and the quality is better at fredericks, but since i can't seem to notice, i go to the other two since its a bit cheaper and closer to my house.

go for a buffet, people pick what they want instead of ordering stuff that some may not like. of course its like 20 bucks a person.
