Toss Lois and bring back Chloe - she's pretty much the same character anyway, except less snarky.

Lois Lane doesn't belong on Smallville - the producers are taking way too much liberty with the mythology.

Agreed...I don't mind her showing up every now and then but I hope she's not here for the whole season because that wouldn't make sense. In the past movies and comics, Lois has always poked fun at Clark being a small town Kansas farm boy...

But it should be interesting on tonight's episode when Lana and Lois meet...catfight!! :D

Yeah I wasn't impressed. Didn't think they should be meeting at this stage, and although she's hot, she is a TERRIBLE actress. Just awful to watch (except perhaps in a centrefold layout).

Good: she is a good ole Canadian Girl I believe

Bad: Lois Lane never smoked well at least cigarettes anyhow not that I can remember and she is way older than Clark

lois lane acts way too much like some of the people i know in real life

She's a crutch. They have the luxury of bringing people from the Superman universe in when they can't think of any storylines.

I would have to agree with most people, the whole Lois Lane angle is very pre-mature. As was the episodes with Perry White, simply because to my knowledge they never met Clark until he went to metropolis....so it is a bit of a stretch from the mythology. However if Lois comes and sticks around for a few episodes and then leaves I think it would acceptable, if for no other reason than to add spark and controversy to the whole Lana/Clark love tragedy. I think they did a decent job in the season premiere showing that Chloe isn't dead and could possibly be making a return late in the season....maybe she'll show up with amnesia or maybe it was part of Lex Luthor's master plan to make sure that his father goes to jail....you never know. If Lionel Luther knew the only person that could convict him was still alive there is nothing that anyone could do to protect her. Chloe may be back before anyone knows it. It's going to be an interesting year....

I also am ambivalent about Lois Lane - she looked alright but I agree does look too old. But give it some time - you can't develop character interactions right off the top. And YES Lana still looks beautiful although I felt like I was watching soft porn when the shower scene came on (luckily my wife is a fan of the show otherwise there might have been some embarassing questions)

It always surprises me when people talk about the "mythology" or history of the characters. If you're going to start talking about the "mythology" of the series, then you'd have issues with 1) the Lex/Clark relationship, 2) Lionel even existing, 3) Chloe's existence, 4) the whole Kal-El thing, 5) The caves, 6) Jor-El's apparent visit to Earth, and even the meteor shower.

The writers of the series have been very good, if you ask me. They've kept enough history/tie-ins to the various Superman mythos while making it a fresh and easy for people who haven't followed all of the history to jump aboard.

No offense, Tulsytan. Just a thought.

I can agree with that, but theoretically speaking, if the show were to continue along the lines of the original movies, I am under the impression that Lois and Perry had never met him before. So in keeping with that idea both of those story lines are premature. However I will agree that the writers of the show and everyone involved have done an awesome job of creating something that is fresh, and new. I love this show and for as long as I have live I have never scheduled my life around a tv show until this one. I think all things considered, with all the stretches, and liberties that the writers have taken with the story/mythology they have done an awesome job of tying it all together, and explaining everythings existence and reasoning. I mean as kids we don't instinctively make enemies. We are taught to hate. If Lex is pure evil then he must have learned it from somewhere...reason for Lionel. If Superman and Lex Luthor become mortal enemies later in life, show me who hates somebody more than a best friend betrayed by the other...I don't think anyone can fix that...therefore the reason for the Superman/Lex Luthor hatred of each other. Chloe is a stretch sort of, but think of it this way, even Clark had friends while growing up...and as established last season, Lois Lane, Chloe's cousin, has no interest in reporting, so Chloe used it as a psuedonym. A stretch but well it worked well with the story.

I'm a little concerned what will happen after this season, as Clark should be finished school. Now if they stick to the mythology he would take his voyage and find the real fortress of solitude. Who knows. I just would really hate to see the series finished after this season. I would like to see the entire cast in a big screen movie...I think the chemistry is developed and the show has a large enough fan base that a movie would be successful if the script was good, probably keeping the original writers from the series would make for a great finale. Just my opinion.

She is Lois....let's face it, if you look at the character traits for Lois Lane in the Superman movie series....she was annoying, bossy, pushy....nothing has changed. Same Lois...this could take some getting used to but if she stays around for a while it could be interesting.

I was reading some of the original comics online the other day and the one Smallville seems to be following has Martha and Jonathan dying before he goes to Metropolis. Hafta re-find that link.

S3 Finale Kara info :

In the 1970s, a spaceship arrived from the planet Krypton, sent by his uncle Zor-L. The ship contained his cousin, Kara, who had taken a longer route to Earth but had matured more slowly, being only 20 years old when she arrived on Earth (revealed in Showcase #97). Superman trained Kara in the use of her abilities and she eventually took on a super-powered role of her own as Power Girl (All-Star Comics #58), thereby becoming the Earth-2 equivalent of Supergirl.
