Take the Money and Run is a reality game show on the American Broadcasting Company that premiered on August 2, 2011, as part of the ABC network 2011–12 primetime schedule. The series is unscripted and involves contestants trying to hide money from professional detectives and other investigators. The show takes place in various locales around the United States.

I watched the first episode last night. I do like the concept of the show, but i don't understand what the rules are. 2 contestants are given a briefcase with $100,000 in it and have 1 hr to hide it anyway they like. They are also given a car. But the cell phone logs and GPS coordinates are given to the detectives, which are also normal people.

After the 1hr is over, the contestants are caught and held in a holding cell an interrogated by officers. the detectives have 48hrs to find the hidden breifcase. I'm trying to find the actual rules to the show, like do they have to answer the questions, or can they just give it to some random people. etc

anybody else watch this?

thats why i thought it looked a little staged. like common, u cant spend 48hrs in a cell and not lose u mind? idiot. also the guy did everything a textbook liar would do.

After watching it I am also wondering how this can't be fake.. I guess for legal reasons in the USA, if it is a "gameshow" it can't be scripted but how did the brother give it up so easily??

If anyone didn't watch it and still wants to see it you can watch it on the CTV website.

I also don't get the "investigators". They work for the show? They don't get any of the money??? Really, they were the one that solved the case so why do the detectives get the money?

I will watch another episode or two before I decide if I will keep watching. I thought the premises of "Undercover Boss" was interesting but then seeing each show follow the same "script" turned me off.

This past week's episode was more realistic.

From the same bunch that brought us Amazing Race.

So far, I find this show boring.

Every time I see the investigator I keep thinking he looks like Bruce Dern.

I'm guessing cancelled after the completed episodes are done airing.
