I just got a golden retriever pup. He's a bit older, 3 months or so. Anyone have a good obedience school they can recommend in Toronto (East York) and approximate cost?

I took my puppy to the Petsmart at Laird/Eglinton for the puppy and intermediate classes from Jan 2011-April 2011. I believe it wasapproximately $120 for 6 sessions. We had Julien as our trainer and overall we were happy with the experience and the results.

Just remember that with puppy classes from anywhere, 90% of the training is for you and 10% is for the puppy. It was amazing watching the adult owners go to the classes with the attention span of a toddler, and then complain that their puppy has a similar attention span after the 6 weeks. If you go in to take everything seriously then your puppy should be just fine.

+1. We took our dog there as well, but had Heather. No probs with the training methods used.

I took my dog to a petsmart in sauga, not sure which location... it was 4 years ago so I don't remember the trainer's name either
I think it was worth it, I learned how to house train her.. if you have no experience training pets then it's definitely worth it

We are currently at All About Dogs with Renee and it is great.

The classes are small and she knows how to read each dog.

She really takes an interest.

We started off at Petsmart in Richmond Hill and switched.

We noticed at night and day difference in the classes.

I highly recommend them.
