I would like to file an complain again one of your moderator CSK'sMom
This moderator is deleting post in the HP Touchpad thread base on her individual believes and values. Completely ignoring the actual "Rules" of RFD.
Here is an respond from him/her of the action.
Time to clean up this thread of all the off topic chatter and nonsense. The thread, at this point is not a place to "chat". If you have no new information then please refrain from posting. If you want to chat amongst yourselves, then feel free to facebook each other or to make a chatroom someplace like tinychat. ;)
If each one of RFD members start "facebooking" and having chatrooms with each other. That completely defeat the purpose of a community. RFD is a online community where people interact with each other on topics they agree or disagree on. If we "members" did what your moderator suggested, then what does this make of RedFlagDeals.com ?
After all, your banner does label
"Canada's Bargain Hunting Community"

and since this site is owned by YP i will remind the mods to better control their staff and make sure they do not take liberties and impede in FREE SPEECH & OVER MODERATING.
Hopefully the said mod will be reprimanded accordingly in line with the high standards this site promises.

I have not followed each and every post in this thread, but I think we need to keep the big picture in mind. If the thread is on the topic of HP Touchpad and people are having questions about its use, deals and other topics based on HP Touchpad, then IMO the posts should remain.
If the posts get into a chat topic that gets away from the HP Touchpad session then I believe mods and other users should try to steer things back on topic. I won't see that as power tripping but moderating. I agree that RFD is a community and we should chat, but it should be based on the topic of the thread and not off topic. A simple test would be that if a new user starts to read the most recent posts and they don't immediately tie in to the thread topic, then something has gone off rail and needs to be placed back on track.
Can you provide some examples of what conversations transpired and what was the action? Did you try to talk to CSK's Mom and see what she had to say about this? Did you talk to Oranr to see what he thought of the situation? There is an escalation process which is Moderator and then Admin (oranr).
I am not trying to defend CSK's Mom (gawd knows I didn't see eye to eye on many things with her) but everyone needs to be given the benefit of the doubt and a chance to explain their actions thru PM. Was this not done?

Oh, it was "on topic".
A few of us were discussing about this individual on facebook regarding TheshoppingChannel's HP touchpad deal. It wasn't a "off topic" discussion where we are talking about cars, boats, houses.... etc

If you consider on topic posting continually a running tally of just about every post made on TSC's facebook page I am not sure what to say to that. The thread had gotten out of hand with users photoshopping a fb user's pics, calling him names, posting screen caps of their mesages to him, etc. Far from the topic of the thread. As I posted in the thread, if you want to chat with each other there are other avenues. Please leave the thread for posts containing new info on the deal. ;)
When stuff like this is left to run wild the thread quickly becomes useless. As it is many are complaining that the instant something new comes out (HP or DD emails), there are hundreds of posts that are nothing more than reposts of the letters or notices. It needs to be cleaned up to keep the thread somewhat useful.

And threatening ppl in private msgs....I guess that falls under keeping things "clean and...useful", as you mention.

Sounds fair enough and looks like you were moderating it properly.
SexyJ, is the above description an accurate depiction of what happened? If so, why do you consider this to be an abuse of power?
Again, I am not taking sides or appeasing the mods in any way. I just want to understand what the issue is.

Really? I asked you a simple question after your rather rude and repulsive pm about a delete? Several rude pm's actually over several days starting with your very first one to me about the thread...

How can you say she was correct when your post and decision was made before she even provided her explanation? Did you know something about this conversation or thread that others here did not?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will take a look at the posts to see if there was an over moderation on our part. I am closing this thread as the complaint has been logged and I will take it up with the OP.
