I'm looking for a tv around 60" and around $1500. I like the pq of plasma but I'm worried image retention will frustrate me to no end, as I use a tv as a monitor (thought I mostly use my computer for watching movies and tv shows).
My usage is basically:

30% Gaming (mostly NHL, Madden, FIFA and some others others like Red Dead and Gears)
40% Sports (SportsCentre, football, soccer, rugby, NHL, you name it, whatever is on mostly)
25% movies (bluray and through htpc)
5% computer use (using tv as a monitor for web, picture editing...caveat: could simply use my 24" monitor off to the side when I want to do more computing)

So would image retention be an issue with all the HUD in games and score and logos?

The Samsung is 3D which is only a slight point in its favour as I don't care too much for 3D viewing but it seems less and less a fad.

Anyways advice please :)

Supposedly until tomorrow but it looked like a price drop to me when I was in the store today.

Personally, for extra $50 I'd go with this Costco model as it comes with two years of warranty.
