Oh gurus that hang on the current computer details and the real deals of power supplies, memory and all things computerese, I ask your opinion.

What do you think is the best computer deal out there? I'm looking for a machine to edit pictures and do graphic design on (Photoshop sort of thing.) and play a few games. I'll spend up to a thousand dollars if the deal is right.

I have Win7 ultimate already. It will probably run Linux too but that's not a chief concern right now.

I appreciate your thoughts on the best deal going. Any suggestions?

You do realize that deals come and go everyday, and what may be an excellent deal today is not tomorrow? How about telling us how much you are prepared to spend?

Thank you for moving the message to the appropriate forum. My apologies.

I don't want to start flames. I know what its like to be up on all the computer issues but I currently am not (and I know it).

I was looking at the refurb HP:

It seems pretty good but with a legal Win 7 waiting to go on I think I'd prefer more horsepower if I can get it.

I appreciate any effort you guys expend or deals you know of to share.

I absolutely realize that deals come and go but I might as well pick a good one while its around. $1000 is fine - less is always good too :).

1)Refurb
2)HP
But considering the price and if you don't really mind beeing refurbished, I doubt you'll find anything cheaper
