Bought this Groupon here http://www.groupon.com/deals/mister-muffler?utm_campaign=mister-muffler&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&c=button&utm_content=ottawa_inter&d=deal&date=20110904&division=ottawa&s=featured_deal&sid=10964927&user=aa91b09c1ab4fb1ea604b60948d39fe1b78b17dfb2765 8bb7d3e147306c3fb50
I just had my rustproofing done today and I told them to throw in a oil change also since I needed one. After looking at the invoice, I noticed I was charged $9.97 for rustproofing. I asked them "What is this?". They said it's a fee for oversized vehicles. I drive a 2 door honda civic, there's no way my vehicle is over-sized I told them. Then they said it's a group buy fee we are charging to customers. They wouldn't let me take my car unless I paid for it. Sucks because I bought all the techs there chocolates while I was waiting. To those in Ottawa that's going in for this group buy, I suggest you ask them up front am I paying anything else and why. I will be emailing groupon today to see what they say.

Hopefully you get your $10 back from Groupon. It isn't in the details of the deal and you shouldn't have been charged it. This is happening too often.

These group deals are getting ridiculous. I had a similiar problem with a groupon at Midas Muffler for an oil change.
When I called to book an oil change I was told to leave my car there for 2 days and they would get to it in the next 2 days...for an oil change?!?!
Anyways good luck getting your $10 back...you shouldn't have any problem. The wasted time/frustration however is never compensated. >:(

people forget the saying 'you get what you pay for'
and $$ = service
if midas can do 12 cars a day and none of them have the coupon you think they will service your car if you were paying less?
not to mention all the other markup bs they try "oh you need brakes, a muffler and tie rods we can do that for $1000 today its highly recommended"

They wouldnt let you take YOUR car? I would call the cops before paying that $10. (not because of the money, because they are scamming people)

Dont worry, these losers who work on cars will see the end soon, when electric cars become the norm these guys will be sweeping floors...
Seriously I wold never ever bring my car anywhere near canadian tire / midas or any of these places where 13 year olds work on cars...
Heck once I remember some clown at Canadian Tire wanted me to bring my Pontiac Lemas Sport there.. I was like ya sure... what do you know about cars built in the 70's..
The problem with todays cars is that they place the stupid oil filter in a place that you NEED a lift to get at it without killing your back... its like they dont want us to do basic mantenance...
Also the fact that most cars are front whell drive so the engine bay is crammed...
Real wheel drive is better as it frees up more space, rear wheels push the car and front wheels steer, the way it should be...
cramming all of that under the bonnet is stupid... and I HATE front wheel drive cars... cant stand them..
I would rather drive a Buick Electra than any front wheel drive car but $100 in gas / day is a killer.

I bought this for DEALFIND in July 2011: http://www.dealfind.com/ottawa/precisionautoworks.
$39 for Voucher for Precision Autoworks located at 1401A Cyrville Road
Ottawa, Ontario. Package includes 4 oil changes, including oil (up to 5 litres of regular oil), lube and filter, plus a 30-point written inspection and tire rotation. Not valid for taxes or gratuities.
I have tried many times to book an oil change, but the garage owner was unwilling to fulfill his commitment. He appeared UNFRIENDLY and even HOSTILE against me, and all I did was to try find an appointment that is suitable for my schedule. He was clearly not happy about giving out this deal. I have not yet gotten an oil change from this garage yet, and asked for MONEY Back, and DEALFIND only offered credit to be used on their site. Generally these garages restricted the times during which you can get a voucher appointement, which makes these deals very difficult to find claim. So BE Ware. We only get what we pay for.
