Where be a good place to vacation for a week this winter? I am a single male, looking for sun, warm temps, beaches, nice room, and of course, to meet some latin females?

I've been to Jamaica, Cuba, Grand Cayman, Barbados, Bahamas (not really Caribbean but close enough), and Cancun and Playa del Carmen (same).

I enjoyed Cuba the best for it's beaches and calm waters. Cancun had the most party atmosphere so it may be best for meeting women but I didn't like the waters - too rough. Paradise Island in the Bahama's is quiite nice and the Atlantis resort is pretty hopping but it has a very "North American" feel (though not as much as Cancun) so there's not that much of the "exotic" atmosphere.

+1 on Paradise Island feeling super North American, which makes sense since we technically are still on the continent... ;)
But I only spend about 4hours on P. Island. Neat place to check out though.

Thanks for the legitimate reply. I was thinking Cuba also where it is cheaper but a communist country I know have to be careful down there.

No problem, King. Folks here can be a bit rough at times but it's usually all in good fun; I got nailed a few times myself.;)

Anyway, it may sound contradictory but I found communist Cuba to be the safest feeling Caribbean country I've been to. The citizens there are very respectful of foreigners and there are strict penalties for messing with one. I imagine that Castro or whoever his successor is greatly appreciates as much foreign dollars as possible, what with the US embargos. Anyway, I wouldn't worry at all about safety there. Jamaica felt much more dangerous outside of the resort.

When you misspell something that badly people will take notice & have a good laugh. It's probably the worst attempt @ spelling I've ever seen. A typo is when it's an accident because the keys on the keyboard are close & you accidently hit the wrong one or 2 at once & don't notice.
You do know you can go back & edit your title & fix the mistake.

As for your question, Negril in Jamaica would be a nice choice. Especially the adults only resorts.
Good luck & have fun.

I've been to Cuba(Holguin, Santa Maria, Varadero), Dominican Republic(Punta Cana) and Cuba is my preference. You don't have to worry about much...the communism there isn't a problem. You feel very safe in Cuba.

If you go back and read again, I wasn't actually questioning your keyboard malfunction.

Cuba is great and the price is right. If you are into a party scene the closest to that would be Veradero. As others mentioned Cuba is fairly safe, the bigger resort/tourist destinations (Veradero, Havana) will have the usual tourist scams going on but nothing dangerous. Sites like www.itravel2000.com and www.selloffvacations.com will have good deals. Prices, of course, go up the deeper into winter we go but that's true for all of the Caribbean. Anytime that resembles school holidays (Christmas, winter/spring breaks) will bring an increase in prices. If you have specific questions about areas or resorts I suggest you check out the forums on tripadvisor.ca, there is a wealth of information there.

Been to both Cuba and Cancun.

I would reccommend Cancun.

Word of caution - stay away from the local women. You can get majorly, majorly into huge trouble with the locals. If you want, hook up with other travellers, but stay away from the local ladies.

Also use a Condom. My friend got an STI from a hot cuban woman.

That was the worst attempt as spelling I've ever seen, and it made my day. Sorry, I just had to let you know.

Varadero would be the best bang for your buck for sure.
Oh, and the 3 comments were very funny.

I see that you're making the assumption that Cuba is in the Carbinnean. :cheesygri
