Hello fellas,
I'm currently studying at UTM for first year in business..
Just to give a little bit of my background is that I have a accounting 2 yr diploma from humber college, recently graduated and now transferred to UTM,
sadly they didn't give me much of transfer credits...
Even though they didn't allow me to go in commerce, I accepted the alternate offer as is business first year.
I'm 26 years old, living in oakville and set my career goal as becoming CA. or CGA as my back up plan.
As the semester going through, I feel studying at UTM seems to be the wrong choice I made.. I mean I know UTM has 'name' and 'prestigious' value..
But as I already set my mind towards accounting area, should I keep trying (it's very competitive here..) to go through or transfer to another better univ
that are more suitable towards acquiring accounting skills/knowledge such as Brock or WLU? I have read a lot of good articles about these two univs repu-
tations about accounting field. Don't get me wrong, I love UTM and is a great univ and also I live close to school. It's just that I really don't like the school
life and want to focus only the accounting. Also, those two univs offer co-op opportunities and this is the biggest reason for me since I'm not a native
speaker Canadian and kinda lack of work experience.
Could you please give me any advice whether I should stay UTM or transfer to one of those univ or any univ recommend that will be suitable to my situation?
Thank you very much for reading my thread.
