^location?

Think we should put gender in here as well as it makes a difference in many cases.

Ottawa, Ontario
Female
$85 a month with Belair
2005 Toyota Matrix XR
$500 deductible for collision or upset
$500 for comprehensive
$1 million liability
7 years driving experience (licensed at 16, 23 now)
No accidents, no tickets

Hubby
Ottawa, Ontario
Male
$86 a month also with Belair
2010 Hyundai Tucson
Same deductibles/liability
12 years driving experience (licensed at 16, 28 now, though he got his full G when he was 25 whereas I got mine at 18).
Had one ticket for failure to yield or some BS

EDIT: Just updated my policy. Should have updated it earlier. Going to change hubby's when he gets home. Should be less than $80 for him once I change a few things.

He did not post his location which is the number one factor that affects insurance (of course driving history, male/female, etc all factors, but by just changing your location on a quote it changes everything exponentially).
My father had me calculate with our company what it would be if we moved to the GTA.

We would be pay in excess of $4000.

Would love to return to Toronto/GTA.
I would not be able to afford to drive.

What company are you with guigz.

Fiddling around with my rate online. Probably going to increase my deductible for comprehensive to $500 and getting rid of this $0 deductible for direct compensation.

Don't drive anymore, in part because of insurance. When I did, it was:

(in 2008)
Male, 25, Mississauga/Oakville border
Perfect record, 3 years experience, no claims
2003 Mazda Protege LX, parked outside on the driveway, used primarly for commuting to work and school
$238.00/month (after employee discount) with RBC

Female (me), 21, with a year of driving experience as occasional driver

One at-fault accident
Nordiq

I think it goes down about $20 to $30 per month if I'm not covered, which wouldn't be a bad idea because I only ever drive when the primary is out of town or province for work, but he doesn't work anymore.

Do you have any other discounts with them?
I know that not everyone's premium will be the same and so forth, but I have always gotten three times the rate on TD and that is with high deductibles, yet there have been a bunch of threads saying how cheap they are.
I merely state this because you also happen to be in Ottawa.

Sorry I take that back.

My car insurance is actually with La Capitale. My home insurance is with meloche monnex.

I have a group discount (5-10% off) and a no claim discount (?% off) with La Capitale.

Single, 34 years old. $225, it just went up this year. My lowest was 4+ years ago at $170. According to my broker, it's National Rate Increase. Sure.
2008 Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5SE

I had a few claims recently (2-3 years). Windshield Replacement, Keyed, Side Swiped (Not At Fault/Charged). My last traffic violation, speeding was 7 years ago.

I shopped around, so did my broker when I called her to ask why it went up again. Wawanesa is the lowest.
