Itunes and backed up game saves etc?

So a long story short, my wife wanted glee on her ipad2.... no matter what I tried, it kept saying it would remove some "apps"... and it did. She was completely donw PvZs... and had all the bonus games etc, but then I wiped it, to get the shows on there....

Is there an easy way to back that stuff up (like, does a simple itunes backup do that)? I never usually back up devices, because... in the end, I do not care for that stuff, but she was plenty pissed :P
