im basically doing a finance major and marketing minor.

reason im doing finance is because of job security. i heard marketing is competitive and not a lot of goods jobs unless you got an mba and such.

would i need to major in marketing as well or is a minor enough.

and does work experience trump>degree?

:lol::lol: @ Bold. Finance jobs have the lest job security especially in this market. It is projected that they will fire 10,000 financial professional over the next 2 years. There is a glut of finance people because the finance market on the demand side has collapsed. Just to give you an example that you can see, in 2005/6 about 25% of Ivey students went into i banking and another 10-14% into consulting. If you look at it now, the whole category of finance is lumped into maybe 2-3 categories because there aren't enough finance jobs. So what does that mean, those top 1/4thj of the class who was going into investment banking is now just going for other forms of banking like commercial or some other area of finance, so having an A is not even enough to get an interview anymore in jobs where having a B was.

Same deal for marketing, the jobs are just as competitive. What will really be important is:
1. get to the interviw
2. be prepared and impress the interviewer
3. be prepared for rounds of interviews.
