Hey guys and gals,

If you like macaroons, there's a deal on today at www.livingdeal.com for a groupbuy. Thinking about trying it out...any one been there before???

i saw this too and im a huge macaron fan, however i saw livingdeal site and it looks like their fillings are whip cream based....sorry i'm kinda picky about the filling, i prefer a denser ganache filling as supposed to buttercream or in this case a whip cream like filling. that's just my opinion.

Why not make your own? I made 3 batches today, raspberry, amaretto and English toffee. Once you get the hang of it, it is cheap to made and makes great gifts! It is finicky to make but once you get the hang of it, it will be great! I tried this recipe from this site and the first time I made it, it turned out great! Enjoy!

+1 And, of course, I am also sceptical of the quality as both livingdeal and the bakery itself are calling them macaroons.

For some of new Macaroon maniac.. French recipe is using butercream ! this is what they served.

For deals like this, it was posted on the www.ccue.ca. You can go in and tell them you saw it on ccue.ca, they will honor this promotion only this 2 days without buying from livingdeal and there is no tax also .

Try these flavours my favourite choice: Black sesame and Chocolate.

Bon Appetit

...seems a little fishy for a first poster.

Anyhow, I found that even MoRoCo's macaroons to be a bit dry in comparison to Ladurée's ones. To those who end up buying the groupdeal, hopefully the buttercream (as this poster claims they use) keeps the cookies moist.
