My Canon sd780 crapped out on me and is giving me a lens error.
Warranty of one year is up.
I have extra coverage through a credit card.
To process extended warranty, credit card requires an estimate.

Where can I go to get a repair estimate for a digital camera?
I am trying to avoid shipping it to canon as that alone will cost about 15~20$

Just take it to the store where you bought it and ask them to give you an estimate. Unfortunately they usually ask for a deposit for the estimate (~$20.00), which is not free(the estimate). If you take it to a major camera store/chain like Henrys or Vistek they may or may not charge for the estimate. They do not charge if you bought if from them and the camera is still under warranty. They (Henry's) would normally send it to the Canon head office for an estimate. For and independent camera store they sometimes send the camera to a non-manufacturer for the estimate (not free), but the repair is usually cheaper and the cost of the estimate is included in the charge for the repair. Since you have the extended warranty I would go to Henrys for the estimate.
