I posted a question and comment on Dealfind earlier today- it was just a shipping question for the computer deal.

Also I had put down to find out the cost to return an item you can find that online on Canada Post's website.

Instead Dealfind somehow decides my comment is "negative" and pulls my comment , along with those of every person who asked how much duty was, is there tax, can the PC tablet be used in French?
What is the return policy- they deleted pretty much every question on this deal.

Then they send me this interesting email. Kind of surprized, but not really.
Dealfind just admitted to me that they do not post negative comments about their vendors as it is in their sales contract with them.

Funny thing is I did not even ask about this and was not expecting a reply of any kind.

I am tempted to buy a Dealfind deal for a local dance school, but don't really want to deal with Dealfind.
Here is the email they sent me:

Ha, they are hiding behind their "policies" and not posting the answers to questions... new low....

You should post more info on here about this specific deal so that when people google it they find this thread and can talk about it freely here.

LOL.

Yeah, I posted a comment regarding their "Solar Toy" deal, that got deleted within five minutes of posting.

Apparently they weren't too impressed when I pointed out that the same product they were offering for $19.50 was available from Amazon.com for $7.65 :P

It sucks, but this is not new. Anytime they have one of these scammy deals they remove anything negative or any questions that might have answers leading to people not buying. They are always nice enough to send that email saying "we removed your comment, ask us privately or piss off" type things.

Dealfind has been doing some shaaaaaady stuff recently. I haven't bought anything off there since they kept having deals for that timeshare scam cranberry resort.

I actually like dealfind because of their referral program. However, they have been having all these facial, laser deal almost every day, as a result, I haven't purchased anything from them for a long time. I prefer them to have restaurant deal.

They deleted my comments when I asked about the Vapur (fake) bottles they sold a week or two ago. That Tablet PC / Laptop deal looks like a big joke because you can buy those projects straight off ebay or amazon for similar prices. Yet, they sold 1000+ vouchers for that for generic unknown android devices.

Dealfind is one of the worst examples of a business in this industry in my opinion. They are always posting crappy deals for crappy products and never standing by them once the sale is made (They just care about the number of vouchers sold). I recently had to get a $200 refund from them because they made an "under the table" agreement with a private owner of Snap Fitness in Thornhill. They sold one year memberships for $99... too good to be true. The owner sold off the franchise and they did not honour the voucher at all. Not to mention, I had 10+ restaurant vouchers with them which went out of business and closed down within a few weeks of the vouchers.

The fake Vapur bottles can be bought off ebay and amazon for dirt cheap. No need to go through xsv360, their vendor. They also sold "genuine toner
cartridges" for printers which turned out to be 3rd party garbage products.

I actually wanted the same one and shop on Amazon.com a lot. Forgot to check there.
Kind of wanted the solar powered bug toy too- but do not really "need" it so kind of forgot.
I know there is that Asian site that sells everything w free shipping and the name slips my mind...

Didn't know they sold printer cartridges.
But I am skeptical of the "12 oral B" toothbrush heads for $30,

Also a 32gb SD card for $30?
That sounds like a bad deal, while Shoppers drug mart or future shop I'm sure is less than $30 or cheap anyways.

But I am skeptical of the "12 oral B" toothbrush heads for $30Really? I jumped on that one. It's not too unrealistic; Rexall sometimes has them on 2-for-1 sales. Now I'm wondering if they'll actually be genuine Oral B heads.

(Of course, 12 brush heads is going to last me two or three years...)

DealExtreme (DX)

Used it for a couple years now and it usually works out well.

Some of the stuff on there is pretty sketchy. Is it even legal to own an RFID copier?

XSV on their website they even say they do not garantee? products after a week or something like that.
So you can't really return something.

But you could always go through your credit card saying a vendor sold you the wrong item and won't take it back.
that usually works.

How can you tell it is a fake brush head? I have never looked at the Oral B ones.

Dealfind is by far the shadiest of all group deal websites, and the only one I have ever had a problem with. Especially in regards to group deals for massages from RMT.

On 2 separate occasions I have asked if the company provides RMT receipts for insurance purposes. Both times they responded to my question publicly and said that yes, an RMT receipt is provided. Then, after a couple of days (and however many people buying the "deal") they edited their answered and added the word 'not' so it said "An RMT receipt is not provided." They didn't even make another post to say they made a mistake or anything like that. In fact, the first time I thought I misread their answer and felt a little sheepish asking for a refund. But when it happened a second time (and I actually took a screen shot of their first unedited reply just to be safe) I knew that it was just a shady way to get more people to buy it. I deleted them from my bookmarks and removed myself from their mailing list the same day.

I was about to buy a Dealfind deal for a dance school- they were offering 25 drop in classes with no expiry date.
They ended the deal 15 minutes early, so did not get to buy.

But then I'm also questioning why would a school offer such discounted classes?
The only other dance deal I bought earlier this year was 1/2 price and that seemed a bit more reasonable.

WagJag is now offering the toothbrush head deal, so it's probably harmless. In fact, they're going for $5 lower than DealFind. (And I could have used iCoke rewards for WagJag bucks, too! Oh well.)

id say its more evidence they are fake. The only reason for an estore to sell on a deal site at a huge discount, while paying a huge % commission would be to try and get future customers direct from their own site. that place is selling on piles of deal sites. Are any of those customers ever going to go direct to that site and buy at "regular price'? of course not.

So the end game is just selling on the deal sites, which must be profitable even after paying a huge %, around half, to the deal site. Do you really think some mickey mouse website has access to unlimited quantities of Oral B product for next to nothing (they are getting 50-60% of the gross, and paying shipping/remitting hst from that too) where they can still be profitable?

I ran a few deals on Dealfind and they don't really delete negative posts, it needs to be something that they think will hurt the deal in order for them to delete it.
Something like shipping costs will light a red bulb in people's mind thinking they need to spend more money and therefore might not buy the deal, that's why they probably deleted it.
Something like reviews about the business, they would probably leave it there. In terms of what's in the contract, i can guarantee you there is nothing about negative comments.

Indeed, do you really think they'd let comments regarding quack items like iridology sessions and "energy bracelets" stand?

I actually posted a few questions in the Dealfind water tubes deal and the vendor is ignoring my very good questions- prob because they do not even know the answers?

Was questioning the ingredients of their product.
I have an interest in health stuff (but know for sure water tubes seem like a scam).

I guess some of my comments may affect their sales, lol

it does suck that DealFind is acting in this manner, but really RFD does the same thing to a certain extent. Look at those sponsored ads which are stickied at the top of the deals forum. They're all locked preventing people from commenting and discussing the deal. Really goes against the spirit of this website imo and shouldn't be tolerated. But money talks, both here and at DealFind.

Best approach is not to shop with them and email them letting them know why.

I had the same experience twice. Once someone else had posted that the company that was offering oil spray for a vehicle charged him and extra 125 for his truck. I had already called the place that morning and had found that what they charged for our truck was the same as I could pay elsewhere (without coupon) to have the truck done so I just confirmed the other persons post and stated what the cost for our truck would be - both his post and mine were deleted
The second time, a hotel in N Falls was offering "Family" Waterpark passes at 27$ - however when you read the conditions that was per person. I commented asking for clarification - my comment was deleted - however "Family" was removed from the ad. Maybe it depends who monitors.

I purchased a hotel voucher. There is no extra charge if used between Sunday and Thursday. There was an extra charge for Fridays and Saturdays of $50. I booked for Sunday May 20 at Whistler's Inn and they told me I had to pay the extra $50. THere were no blackouts for the long weekend and no mention of the long weekend not being included. It was my anniversary and that's why I purchased the voucher. The hotel told me to get my money back from deal find.

When I called there was a 30 minute wait so I sent an e-mail. The response was too bad. There is no last name on the e-mail and when I asked to speak to a Supervisor I was told to call. I asked for an extension and they refused to give me one. I still have the e-mails.

I finally got through after about a week of trying and was told that everyone knows that Sundays on a long weekend are considered the weekend. I told her that is ridiculous. I deal with Group On, Team Buy, Living Social, etc. and I have never had that problem. They always list the black out dates.

Anyway,I will never use Dealfind or Whister's Inn in Jasper again.
