View Full Version : Entry Level DSLR for the wife - D300 / T2i / Something Else?

Hey guys,

My wife is an ex-film SLR user who wants to get back into the hobby, but using a DSLR. I am looking to get her an entry level unit for Xmas. I was thinking D3100, since it's on for $530ish with an 18-55mm lens right now, or maybe spending the extra $150 to go to the T2i. What do you pros think?

What brand of Camera did she previously use. Maybe you should start from there. Same with lenses and focal length. Keep her in familiar territory.
