My girlfriend and I are celebrating our one year anniversary on November 26th and I am looking for a restaurant to take her to.

simple right? but heres the thing...that day is also the cavaclade of lights and I would love a restaurant that can seat us with a view of the light-show at 7PM. Does anyone know of a restaurant that has a view of CITY HALL. Throw suggestions out there... i'm not trying to pass a total check of 70$ but if the view is right then so is the price.

There are no restaurants with a view of city hall. The only thing I can think of is book a room at the Sheraton across the street and get room service. It's your one year anniversary, don't be cheap.

I don't think it can be done. Closest thing to your viewing needs was the Bay cafeteria on the 8th floor of the store (immediately south of the Eaton Centre), which just recently closed. If the view is your priority, then the room at the Sheraton really isn't a bad idea.

Personally, I'd just book a nice place and take a romantic walk around city hall afterwards.

Several years back I booked a helicopter to hover over city hall for my 1 year anniversary with the gf/wife during the cavalcade of lights. Booked a room at the Westin Harbour Castle too.

Any restaurant with a nice view is going to cost you a lot more than $70 with tip.

Nota Bene is right at Osgoode station and just a couple minutes away from Nathan Philips Square. That would be a really nice restaurant for an anniversary... it's going to cost you more than $70 though.

Horizons? Judging from the pictures on the website, it looks onto the city... never been there though.

Check out Toula as well. It's up high, located at Bay & Queens Quay.

You should make a reservation soon... any nice restaurant with a decent view will be booked solid on a Saturday night. 7pm is the hardest time to get a reservation too. This explains why: http://www.thestar.com/living/article/535086
