I am only doing this to help my fellow RFD'ers get some good ol gear for the holidays in time for holiday gaming action since one of the websites is in complete Chinese language.
so let's save on shipping and order quantity price breaks and get these under the tree before santa arrives.
Donations are welcome but not required, although i would not turn any down. if you cannot donate anything it's all good... money is tight around the holidays anyways i'll be happy if you just hit the thanks button at the bottom left of this post. even heatware feedback would be nice.

- Shipping and Pickups and Taxes -
Since we are doing to save on shipping since none of these are available in Canada. i do not know what the final price of shipping will be for all of us until i know how many have confirmed an order.
All shipping prices and any duties charged to me on delivery will be split amongst all participating buyers. I do know that for 5 bags of O-RINGS shipping is 21.17 via ups standard and for 5 keyboards it's 20.00 dollars EMS shipping.

Do the o-rings come with the keyboard key remover thingy? It would make It much easier then using your hands/tweezers I would think..
Where are you able to meet-up at infamous? Assuming that some of us come pick up the item. At your time of course!
I'm Interested In getting the o-rings only.. Do you guys know roughly how much would the group buy of the o-rings cost? Taxes/Duties included on top of the price. Like "the" final price.

hey guys,

cmstorm keyboards all come with keycap puller already. there is no need to buy one.
if you need keycaps there are like like a million places you can buy them.
typically you want PBT plastic keycaps as that type of plastic lasts the longest.
if you guys can wait i am going to be organizing a custom keycap group soon which can save us some real dough. keys would be as low as 2.00 per custom keycap and anywhere from 15.00 to 50.00 per set depending on keycap options.
more info to come soon but this is something we can get into after everyone gets keyboards first.
and yes the places i am ordering from i can order you replacement keycaps. just drop me a pm with your keyboard brand and i will help you source a set.

these will be pbt plastic using cmyk colors.

also our own fonts. our own layouts. this is a true custom keycap selection compared to what is already out there and mass produced.
so for a gamer instead of having the plain wasd, esc, space, ctrl and alt keys they can be up down left right in red on white... esc can be like an abort or a big middle finger and control could be an icon of a dude crouching or a camp tent... you get the idea?? custom = custom.

reason is that's the actual cost as quoted from the suppliers that contacted me.
even ducky themselves are quoting that price.
read the email replies yourself.
also from the way the dialogue has been with shop owners and suppliers i spoke to i think the new versions will be limited edition runs.
i know for sure ocn is only getting blue and red backlit version and because those types are getting mass produced the costs come down a bit
compared to others. if these will be limited i am close to 95% sure these types will come with goodies the other don't. much like the cmstorm red
and the previous ducky releases that were limited as well. ducky knows mech's are in demand and the the smart guys they are will make sure to keep
their base clientel happy as the computer gaming esports industry continues to grow.

currently we only have the blue and red backlit light ducky kb in blue and brown cherry chip in stock.
White and Green Backlit will be approx. 189 - 199. Q1 next year. switch options and pricing is not known yet so as of yet we are charging the same price for all types.

Green backlit unit have to be advise in the later part.

in the end the 149.99 price i am asking is just a preorder price. if this price changes later on i can either refund or charge more the difference needed.
it's the same with the kbc race pre orders and kbc pure pre order group buys for those that are part of my other group buys on the other boards.
all i know is these will sell out. and these will be limited run much like the kbc race which only got a small 5k run amount. also 149.99 for a mech keyboard with this amount of
features is pretty good considering filcos and topre's can run you 200 to 300 easy and razor and steelseries charge around 150 - 180 anyways for their mechs with less options.

after some considerable thought. i think i would like to start invoicing and collecting payments tonight.

the shared shipping charge of 2.64 per buyer is to pay for the combined shipping charge from the usa to canada at my address at which you are free to pick up once it arrives.
if you want your package shipped to you from that point on ANY additional shipping charges are applicable and must be paid to me first so i can ship it out.
some of you are paying me thinking that the 2.64 covers the shipping to your home address.

definitely not blue for gaming.
black is like red but needs more force to actuate and has 3mm more distance to actuate as well.
brown is in between black and blue. small tactile feedback and low noise but same travel distance as blue.

IMO brown would be better for RTS... You'll most likely be pressing the keys a lot, and blacks have a high actuation force so you will probably get tired.

I use browns for SC2 and have absolutely no issues with it. When I'm not gaming, they're fantastic to type on with the tactile feedback.

lol already asked for black now :P. A lot of people game with 6gv2 which uses black switches, so it should be alright.

TBH i hate blacks and clears and blues.
in terms of gaming.. red or brown. nothing else.

also everyone has pm'd there replacement options.
i just want everyone to look in their inboxes and comfirm what your are asking.
i know some of you are gamers and some of you are asking for blue switch keyboards.
i strongly recommend you reconsider or you might be disappointed. to the guy ordering the blue backlit ducky.
you dont have to get blue cherry mx switches with the blue backlit it also comes in brown and black and RED cherry mx versions.
once i get those replies tonight i will send the final invoices tommorrow morning and we are good to go and ahead of schedule by 2 days.

These are special order from Asia not from PCHOME therefore these will be a separate shared shipping price for those who are interested in these models.

tomorrow is the deadline. the 149.99 is only a preorder deposit.
ducky distributor in both taiwan and mainland china seems to be getting slammed and share the same email server.
i am awaiting a response from them to confirm the final price and new price list.

i have very good news and some news some of you may take bad.

the news some of you may not like...
pchome has changed their shipping promo.
we cannot stack all items and pay one price anymore as they have caught on.
it seems our friends over at ocn abused this promo a lil too much and now anything over 10 pounds in weight will automatically change the shopping cart to regular rates.
the guys who ordered the cmstorm keyboard you don't seem to be affected since there is not a lot of you and these keyboards are smaller and lighter in packaging.
this is ok for the cmstorm buyers as those parts are under that weight but for the ducky guys this totally sucks... however read below.


good news is ducky has now established Canadian distribution channels.
they have had them contact me so now we can get their keyboards faster and save on a real combined shipping rate.
ducky themselves are not shipping internationally directly from them as they are in the middle of establishing distribution channels.
thus being said the Canadian distributor does not have a final price on the green and whit backlit yet or stock but assures me very soon.
so as it is ducky is has their hands full trying to establish strong channels while keeping up with demand locally and in markets they still have no partners.


bottom line is...in order to please everyone the ducky orders and the cmstorm orders are now split into 2 purchases.
so as of now i will stick to the confirmed orders in the list and send out payment requests as scheduled. but i thought letting you all know how this is going down was the best solution to avoid any confusion.
i hope none of you are mad but i spent the last 2 days trying to find solutions to help us all out.

ok so today is the final day for the group buys...
all payment requests have been sent and should be collected by tonight so that everything can be shipped to us first thing monday morning and hopefully arrive by the end of the week just in time before xmas.

regarding ducky orders.
i got the pricing from ducky channel int and i have decided to use PCHOME even with their shipping costs to complete this group buy with the exception of green backlit orders.
here is why...

Ducky distribution has to charge me MSRP cdn value which is 149.99 and since they are in canada there is a taxable 13% HST. which brings the grand total to 169.48 per keyboard and this is BEFORE shipping costs. compared to PCHOME pricing at 3790 TWD which after conversions equals 3,790.00 TWD = 128.862 CAD and then + 602.00 TWD = 20.4688 CAD for EMS shipping which equals 149.32 CAD shipping combined.

so it looks like this bottom line.

ducky distro = 169.48 CAD + shared shipping - Shipped from CANADA

regarding paypal fees.

some people just can't read chinese.
it's a matter of preference and assurance knowing someone who has done this already is handling it.
i can relate to this when i wanted to order from japan for the first time it was pretty daunting. it's peace of mind at the end of the day for me and a lot of ppl.
i got no problem helping rfd'ers if they need help. also some members just do not know where to look for items like this. even with google some stuff wont appear.

cuz when i ordered my cmstorm and then my brothers both packages did not get dinged at all.

don't ask me how but all keyboards arrived at the post office this morning and are now in my possession.
there was a combined duties charge when i picked them up. i will have to determine who owes what first before i will release anything.
or if all of you want i can split the duties cost up evenly.
regardless they are all on hand now.

also customs did open and inspect some of they items. they were prolly wondering why there was a dozen or more keyboard related items coming to my address all at the same time.
so don't be surprised with open seals. and yes customs can and will open anything they want at any time. don't get mad at me this is the law.

anyways i got the voice-mail from UPS them letting me know where it is but the voice-mail for some reason was garbled when i got it so for 4 days i was trying to get a hold of allorings to get the tracking number so i can call UPS to sort out the mess.
so i got the tracking number today and it turns out there is a customs fee for ups to clear it and duties applied. i do not know the exact amount just yet but i did have it charged to my cc so when i get that invoice i'll let you all know how we are going to split that charge up. other then that it is set to arrive between Wednesday and friday.
i thought i had posted this before but i guess i forgot to hit post reply or something cuz i was sure i posted before. anyways the delay in the second order was because before another package could be sent out there was a claims process with UPS that had to be finished and forms to be signed before UPS took fault and insurance paid seller for loss and then seller to me.

total was 21.17 for 8 buyers which comes out to 2.64 once divided up.
so that is what is going to be added on top of your o-ring order cost. plus the payal fee which is 2.9% + $0.30 CAD as outlined by paypal.
in other words if you are buying 1x bag of o-rings the total cost is 5.59.

Actually it took only a month or so for the novelty group buy on GH. They ordered at the end of Dec. and the organizer received it in early Feb.

They say it's about 4-6 weeks for the orders to be completed from the time of order..not too bad..

customs was 35.99 and equally divided between each bag order. it came out to 2.99 each.
